LOG HOME 4.5 Acres, HUGE VIEW, POOL, FIREPIT, 2 WOODBURNING FIREPLACES

First, the best things were that the bed and pillows were updated and comfortable and the views from the deck were amazing! We had nice, shaded evenings with a good breeze. The kitchen was reasonably stocked with pots, pans, and cooking utensils. There were plenty of cups, bowls, plates, but only limited silverware. However, as mentioned in a previous review, the freezer only worked sporadically and would not hold ice. I went back to check the listing and it does say it in a description of the photo, but ALL of the bedrooms are located up a TINY SPIRAL stone staircase. For our group, that was difficult. While we enjoyed ourselves, we were very dissatisfied in the condition of the pool deck lounge chairs and the chairs around the fire pit. It honestly would have been better to have an open area where you expected to bring your own chairs, as the majority were unsafe for use. I am going to guess that the pictures are in the about 5 years old. The gas grill was basically unusable and we had to go buy charcoal for the other grill…which worked great, but the listing mentioned propane. By 2-1/2 days in the house seemed to cool better after we contacted the host and got permission to turn down the thermostat. During these hot times, I would hope the cleaners would turn on the A/C when they leave in preparation for the next guests instead of letting the house get to well over 80. Unloading and our first day were miserably hot...you should bring extra fans!

My kids LOVED this cabin. It was perfect. So cozy and unique. My four boys ages 15, 13, 13 and 11 explored and yet NEVER finished finding cool things to show one another. The house was spotless. Everyone had enough space. Big kitchen table for long family game nights. Only down fall was the freezer was on the fritz. Firepit was amazing !!!! And veiw...breathtaking!! One thing I didn't like was in the description it makes it sound as if you have a private pool with the cabin. " private firefit and pool". You don't. There is a shared pool with a cabin a few yards away. No one was renting when we were there so it wasnt an issue. All in all... we will return !!!

Five of us stayed at the house. We took walks in the morning and sat out on the back porch and enjoyed the view! The house is in a great area! The only thing we wished we would have had were wash cloths. Another towel per person would have been nice. The pool was fun! We will be back!

A severe storm came through Thursday night before of Friday check-in. I dont know if that caused all the floors to be dirty, but it is very possible that it did. There were only 6 bath towels and no wash cloths in the entire house. Other than that it is a beautiful home in a beautiful location. We enjoyed our stay!

Came here for a weekend getaway with my grandparents. The hill country views were immaculate and the cabin itself was homey and had everything we needed to make it a relaxing weekend.

It was great!

Adult children and grands loved the location and the quirky charm of the cabin. The Senior family members faced several challenges including all bedrooms upstairs by way of difficult spiral stone stairway, and the lack of hand holds in the bathtub/showers.

Oh my god. I'm not the type of person to leave reviews, but this was an absolutely incredible stay. We were 9 adults and a small dog and there was plenty of (comfortable!) space for all of us, the cabin itself is SO beautiful and fun, and the views from the deck had us absolutely gobsmacked. (I'm so serious, those hills will take your breath away) The location is great, too— the local shopping center is super close and we were able to pop out whenever we needed with no problems. Carrie answered promptly when we had questions before our stay and made sure we had all the information we needed for our weekend to go smoothly. It was everything we could've possibly asked for and everyone had an absolutely amazing time!

We loved this place! We planned this for my husbands birthday weekend. We loved the pool, views, and it’s 5 minutes from one of the coolest natural springs Blue Hole. Totally worth the price.

A group of friends (early 30s) stayed here. We LOVED this property and the area. The balcony views are absolutely gorgeous - we were blessed with some great weather! Plenty of room for our group. Took advantage of the grill Friday night and stocked kitchen - they have a lot of random stuff like filters, coffee pot, salt, pepper, paper towels, good utensils - though I'd recommend bringing paper plates / bowls if you don't want to do dishes (though there is a dishwasher and we did our own for the meals we did there). We went tubing on the Guadalupe on Saturday - about 25 minutes to Tube Haus where we got our tubes - I think tubing at the Lions Club San Marcos River is also about 25 minutes away. Went to eat in Wimberley town Saturday night (Leaning Pear - super cute) and then watched movies on their DirectTV Saturday night. On Sunday, we did a little shopping in Wimberley - lots of cute stores - and then went to a winery near Dripping Springs (Duchman's - also have a good Italian restaurant on site). Overall, we had a great weekend - only wish we could have stayed longer and actually gone hiking in the area or just had more time to relax on the beautiful balconies! Will definitely be coming back. The owner also provided all the necessary info we needed and was helpful througout. The only cons were the WiFi was super slow - so streaming videos or music is not an option - but they have DirectTV which we didn't think about using Friday night - we could have just switched it on to a music channel that day. Took a quick dip in the pool but water was too cold! And Petey the peacock is beautiful - though he did wake us up with his cawing pretty early in the mornings! Also, we loved the rustic decor :-)

The pictures on the website don't even come close to how beautiful this house and canyon view are in person! All eleven of us had a wonderful time and are planning another outing later this year just because we had such a great time!

The house was everything that we needed and expected, plus some. The owner has the house well stocked with all of the incidentals from hand soaps to coffee filters to make the stay very nice and accommodating. We found the house extremely clean and tidy. The view is spectacular and its so peaceful at night. The town of Wimberley is just a short 5 minute drive from the house which is convenient. I think our only complaint was the pool was too cold to swim. The days were warm however the nights were cool. Great house!

This is truly a wonderful place to relax and enjoy. It is well maintained, easy to find and was ready for our arrival. We rented both houses for our family of 14. The kids loved the pool and Petey. It was just a quick trip to town for shopping and eating. Some easily went into Austin and enjoyed the sights there, too. The views from the balconies were great and sitting out on the balconies was most enjoyable. The kitchen was fully equipped, though it would have been nice to have more silverware. Either bring some throw aways or be prepared to hand wash a lot. I brought lots of paper plates too. I do feel it should be mentioned that all bedrooms are upstairs, which I did not realize. For my husband and I, that was difficult, but there were plenty of grandkids to run up and down the stairs for us during the day, so it worked out okay...we just carefully went up at night and down in the mornings. (The little cabin's bedroom is also upstairs and the stairs are quite steep.) There is a quaint bathroom downstairs, but there is no shower in it. Also, the lights in the downstairs, especially over the dining table, did not put out much light. Upstairs the lighting was great. I also am not real sure about my deposit check. I know it was supposed to be torn up, but when I inquired about it, it was, "Oh, did you send a check?" Not real reassuring. I would recommend this lovely place for families, but do keep in mind that all bedrooms are upstairs. Yes, there is a couch that makes into a bed, but we could not have bathed in the tub downstairs and we like to go on to bed and let the younger ones stay up as late as they want. Oh, and the yard was great for our Easter egg hunt.

My wife and I spent 6 weeks here in the winter. The house is large and comfortable. Everything works well. The deck with views of the canyon are incredible and we spent considerable time there. The hike and bike trail is walking distance and Wimberley was only about 1 mile. There is plenty to do in the Texas hill country and the only problem we encountered was not booking the house for a longer period. Petey the peacock entertained us each evening with a visit. House can easily handle large groups of people with 3 bathrooms. The owner and the local maintenance man were both helpful when needed. We hope to be able to return.

The house has plenty of room, and is clean and in great shape with everything we needed. The view is beautiful. It was cold out, so we made a fire in the family room fireplace. The grounds are well maintained and nice for a walk. It was a short drive into town, and close to the Blue Hole (which is "closed" in the winter but open to walk around and very nice to visit while so quiet).

Happy New Year! We celebrated 2014 in this lovely log house! We arrived and our adult "kids" immediately wanted to explore the property! We stayed 4 nights and we all slept great! The house had everything we needed! The view is spectacular and much better than I thought it would be! Petey the Peacock came out every day to visit us from 5-5:30 ish pm. He is beautiful! Being close to Wimberley Square was a big plus for shopping and dinning! We grilled hamburgers one night and the grill is modern and clean. Also, the house is very clean which was a huge plus for us!

We had a wonderful weekend with our children's families including all 6 grandchildren. This house was perfect--enough room for everyone with privacy. It was well equipped and comfortable. One family dog joined us. The pool was nice, a great place to lounge and play. A peacock shared the place with us and we also saw deer. It is close to Wimberley, a quaint little town, and there is plenty to do like hiking and tubing on the Blanco River. We were very pleased and recommend it highly.

I stayed out here a weekend with 9 other guys. It was the perfect size house to accommodate that many people. We had enough beds, couches and there were a lot of blankets. The 2 decks were awesome. Had great views! Was really nice to hang out on both decks when we were grilling or just having coffee. TV set up was nice and they had dish. Pool area was really cool but unfortunately it was too cold to get in. I highly recommend staying here. It's very close to Wimberly's square and not too far from San Marcos. I would consider coming out here in the summer with other couples. It could be a romantic getaway. Definitely check it out if you want to see Wimberly and have a pretty big group. Oh you may want to check and see if someone is renting out the smaller guest house by it. It wasn't a big deal but just in case.

We had a great time on this property and very much enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. If you're looking for a nice, quiet place in the Hill Country from which to base your explorations of the surrounding area, you can't do much better.
