About this house rental
Come visit crystal clear Bear Lake with deck and patio overlooking the water. This sand-bottom lake stays shallow for 50 yards and is accessible just a few steps down from the house. This house can be used year-round for many nearby attractions including:
Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course - 16 minutes away
Crystal Mountain Ski Resort - 20 minutes away
Little River Casino - 16 minutes away
Sleeping Bear Dunes - 30 minutes away
You will let yourself in and out with a passcode on the front door, sent to you prior to arrival. Blazing fast Wi-Fi will keep you connected.
Bedroom Configuration:
Bedroom #1: Main Floor - King Bed
Bedroom #2: Lower Floor - Queen Bed
Bedroom #3: Lower Floor - Two Twin Beds
There is a pull-out sofa available on the lower level but please let us know ahead of time if you'd like this to be prepared with clean linens.
Bathrooms:
Bathroom #1: On main level, located between the master bedroom and the laundry room, has shower.
Bathroom #2: On lower level also has a shower.
Beach/Swimming: You can swim in the lake directly from the property. While kids generally love to swim in front of the cottage, they do need to climb down the stairs from the cottage to the dock. There are rocks along the shoreline. There is not a sandy beach on the shoreline, though our lake access is shallow and has a sandy bottom.
Boat Launch: There is a public boat launch on Bear Lake, however there is no space for trailer parking on the property, nor is there a boat lift available for use.
Cable/Satellite TVs: No Cable, but we have a smart TV on each level. Bring your YouTubeTV/Netflix/Hulu/Amazon account information or your own Roku/Firestick/AppleTV and get connected.
Cell phone service: Good!
Coffee Maker: Coffee pot and Keurig available in the kitchen.
Dock: Yes, for swimming during warm seasons.
Fire-pit: Yes. There is a fire pit. Please keep fires manageable and extinguish completely. Provide own wood.
Fishing: Bear Lake is known for its excellent fishing. Please be sure to bring your own poles as there are none at this property. Also, in order to fish in Michigan lakes and rivers, one is required to hold a fishing license.
Grill: Gas grill (and spare propane tank) available.
Grocery Store: Saddle Up Convenience Store and Bear Lake Market are both located less than a mile away. There’s a Meijer in Manistee (15 min drive).
Handicap Accessible: Getting down to the water could be difficult if you have limited mobility. The steps are concrete and somewhat narrow. The main floor of the house is fairly accessible with only a few steps but does not have ramps.
Internet: High-speed and available for use.
Linens: Clean sheets on the bed when you arrive.
Parking: Extremely limited. You can fit two cars MAXIMUM if one is under the carport.
Pets: Sorry, no pets.
Neighbors: This property is between two other lake houses that are very near. If you're looking for extreme privacy on your travels, this may not be the right place for you. We ask that guests be respectful with noise after 11pm and before 9am. This house is on a busy road.
Smoking: No smoking allowed of any kind, on the property. Due to the close proximity of the neighbors, it is strictly prohibited.
Snow: We will have the driveway and walkway cleared prior to your arrival and a shovel will be provided if you'd like to clear additional snow during your stay.
Towels: We will provide bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, etc.
Washer and Dryer: Available for your use. A limited amount of detergent will be provided but feel free to purchase your own.

The house is clean and very updated - honestly, it felt like a hotel rather than a rental house! Bed was comfy, lots of extra pillows and blankets, and they even have white noise machines. They really thought of every little thing and it was such a delight to feel so taken care of. The parking could be tricky if you have a large truck, but we were able to park our larger SUV without issue - definitely back in to make it easier. The house is on a main road, so you do get some road noise from passing cars and trucks. It was noticeable but really didn't bother us. Weather was cold when we traveled so we didn't use the lake and the dock wasn't out, but we did use the back deck every morning and evening to enjoy the views. This was absolutely one of the best houses we've rented!

It was a great vacation get away. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and access to the lake. Having a paddle board and kayak for renters to use was a plus. The house was very modern with amazing views of the lake. Nick was a great host and was super responsive. I highly recommend you read other comments about the property as it was a great fit for us, but for those seeking solitude it may not be what you're looking for. For those looking to enjoy great views, modern conveniences, and lake living for a few days I highly recommend this property.

The house had ALL the comforts of home plus extras! The beds were super comfy which is always a big bonus when you're away from home. Great hosts, quick responses and an overall awesome location! Parking is tight and pulling in and out of the drive takes focus and patience.

Everything you need to make your Bear Lake vacation comfortable and easy. The remodel of this home was very intentional and every detail is addresed. Two separate living areas make this home perfect for both family and friends. Enough space for everyone to watch movies, play games, or find a quiet place to read a book. The kitchen is very well appointed with everything you need to feel like you are at home. Brand new appliances, washer and dryer, and furnishings make this home function seemlessly. The addition of a brand new composite deck makes Bear Lake sunsets even more beautiful to watch. The back dock is perfect for catching some sun, jumping on your Seadoo, or paddle board. Don't hesitate to book this property!
