House was as described, pool was fantastic, owner was very helpful. There were challenges with having a small child but we had a great visit. Outdoor kitchen was very well equipped.

We arrived at the property in Tourbes and were pleasantly surprised with its modern appearance. The property was clean and the general condition of the interior was good; some of furniture and appliances a little worse for wear. The advert states children welcome, but there were a number of ceramic ornaments around which is a magnet for little people. The raised (wooden) deck is also worn with some areas a little dangerous underfoot if you were not careful and there were no railings around the deck. The facilities of the property were good but there is no freezer in the main house. Because of the heat, we had to keep the shutters closed of the bedrooms to stand some chance of keeping the rooms cooler than the (high) ambient temperature. We found the only way to keep the house cool was to open all the doors and let the breeze blow through which, unfortunately brought along with it some of the local bugs. Perhaps some form of alternate cooling for the bedrooms and lounge area would be a consideration for the future. At our request, the owner did provide 2 fans, but unfortunately they were not powerful enough and quite noisy and unusable at night time. With that said, we had a very good stay; the weather was hot and the pool very welcoming and although surrounded by other properties, it was quiet and quite private. The person who met us on the first day, Jacques, was very polite and an excellent ambassador of the owners. He went through all we needed to know and removed some of the ornaments we were concerned about. He also did some remedial work on the deck to make it a little more safe for us. We have stayed in Tourbes and the surrounding area for many years. The village is a typical French village surrounded by vineyards with the usual local shops, restaurant, post office etc. and it has a small market one day a week as well as other events through the summer. It is very close to Pezenas, which is an old and very lovely town, that has all the main shops, a large paved shopping area, many coffee shops and Artisan Boulangeries.
