About this villa rental

FR9LVJL6
At La Cotinière, old country house type Charentais, totally renovated in 2015 in a walled garden of 450 m² with a heated pool of 11m x 3.5m.

The house includes a living room (60 m²) including living room, dining room with an open kitchen and four bedrooms (21, 16, 21 and 12 m²) with four bathrooms with separate toilet and toilet.
All rooms have independent entrance in order to enable couples of friends find themselves independently.
All rooms open onto the terrace, garden and pool. The house has underfloor heating.

The renovation was done to preserve and enhance the typical elements of oléronaise architecture while bringing the comfort of a home to a 5-star ranking prefecture.

With four bedrooms and four bathrooms, the layout of the house is particularly suitable for couples.
The house is a 1-minute walk from the beach.
The house is a 5 min walk from shops, in the town of La Cotinière, famous for its fishing port and its fish market.

Once at Logis Fisherman, forget your car and enjoy, with the best sunshine on the Atlantic side, all activities on foot or by bike: beach and seafront walks, trips ...

You will find there food shops, excellent quality, for shopping a real pleasure: bakery, fishmongers provided directly by the auction, butchers, wine shops, grocery and daily market with fruits and vegetables, cheese-creamer, oyster farmers , etc. After your shopping, your well-equipped kitchen allows you to highlight local products (please try the céteaux and squid, local specialties).

In an emergency, but we do not want you, you will find on-site doctors and pharmacy.

By late afternoon, still on foot, you can go for a drink at the bar enjoying the Gaité light on the fishing port, before returning to the friendly atmosphere of the Oyster Bar Pigouille (yes oysters Oléron are good even in summer!) and finish your evening with a stroll along the harbor, good gelato from Tamarins in hand!

For a slightly more urban atmosphere, a bike fifteen minutes by bike and you're in Saint-Pierre d'Oléron "capital of the island," with its little shops or clothing, of course, food (do not miss the pastries from the church square), bars and restaurants. If you want to taste the local food market, the right address is Le P'tit Bouchon, in the main pedestrian artery.

And if you leave the light Oléron, you have access near the famous La Palmyre Zoo, the site of the frigate Hermione or the aquarium of La Rochelle.

We had a wonderful 2 weeks at this property in La Cotiniere! The house is situated remarkably close to the beach and just a short stroll into the village for fresh croissants and baguettes every morning. The pool was wonderful, and provided daily entertainment with inflatables provided and a nice warm temperature of 27-28c water. The house was magnificent, probably the cleanest holiday house we have ever rented. All the equipment is top spec - a lot of money has been spent on the house! You have to knock on the dishwasher to open it! The extractor fan is like Tracy Island and the oven cleans itself, we had a great time exploring even the house! There are 4 double bedrooms, one of which is an annex but only a few metres from the main house just by the pool, all bedrooms en-suite - just 1 bath in the biggest bedroom’s en-suite. The showers in the other en-suites were lovely and plenty of hot water to go round. You have to pay extra for bedding but it wasn’t too much and was worth it. There is room for 2 large cars in the secure driveway (we had 2 x Citroen C4 Picassos), with a Key fob operated gateway into the drive which leads onto the pool area and access to the house and annex. Lots of sun loungers and plenty of chairs inside and out, with an outdoor and an indoor dinning table that could comfortably sit 9 adults and 2 babies. There is a high chair and a travel cot at the house too, which was handy for us. We were impressed with the number of plates, bowls, cups, glasses Cutlery etc plus they were very good quality. I would let you know that a €2,500 damage deposit required. We paid this via cheque in £ on arrival and that was fine. The lady who checks you in and out (Nathalie, who is very nice) handed the cheque back at the end - we had owned up to 3 broken glasses and paid for those in cash. The village has a food market every morning from around 8am, with beautiful fresh fruit and veg as well as cheese, oysters and some clothes. There are lots of lovely restaurants but would recommend ‘Le Cap’s’ which is 800 meters away away from the village (north) - with a Cafe Gourmand not to be missed! Also recommend Quai 17 in Saint Dennis, need to book as it’s really popular and with amazing mussels. All the places on the island are well kept and very picturesque - we were so impressed and hope to go back!

The property is well presented and finished to an excellent standard. The layout is perfect for 2 families holidaying together as the rooms are split in a way that allows privacy for everyone with beautiful bathrooms and communal areas. We particularly enjoyed the pool area which was large, clean and thoughtfully designed. We were all delighted with the villa and the location.
