About this house rental

Spread out in our cozy 4 bedroom home and plan your adventure for the day. The entire house will be yours to enjoy, along with a dock, sauna, mooring, 2 kayaks, 2 SUPs and a canoe. AC and heaters make this a year round retreat. New STARLINK provides fast wifi. The quiet dirt road that leads to the house is perfect for evening strolls, bird watching and kid exploration (bring your bikes!). Local eateries and breweries will keep you fueled for your fun, or just relax on the screened in porch.

Main level includes kitchen, dining, living room with grand fireplace, as well as bunk room (2 single beds) with lake views, cozy queen bedroom, main bath with new walk in shower and the large screened in dining porch facing the lake.

New high speed Starlink internet has been installed, making this an easy place to work remotely.

Head upstairs and you will find two more rooms with queen memory foam mattresses, one of which also has a screened in porch facing the lake. A half bath is also on the second level.

Downstairs is the den with a Roku tv (log in to any of your subscriptions and enjoy all your entertainment!). There is also a ping pong table and other games. The laundry room is accessible from the door to the right. Large sectional couch provides another sleeping option, as well as a pull out couch. We also have a portable floor mattress that is great if you want to sleep out on the porch!

Take the stairs down to the lake to enjoy the dock and mooring during summer months. DOCK IS SEASONAL and put in/take out dates vary on lake levels. Please reach out before booking if you have questions regarding the dock/stairs/shore. Take the included canoe, SUP or kayaks out for a paddle and to explore the area by water. Please note there are several steep steps down to the shore, which is made up of large boulders. Varying water levels can make accessing the dock difficult for some. There are also sharp zebra mussels along the shore. If you have questions or concerns about lake access, please message before booking.

In winter months, enjoy the 2 pairs of snow shoes, and sleds for the kids- or bring your skis to take advantage of the many winter recreation options out your door. Whiteface Mountain, Lake Placid and Mt Van Hoevenberg are less than an hour away.

For families- we have a pack and play, high chair and baby gate available, as well as toys, books and games in the bunk room.

The AC units are in the upstairs bedrooms and the basement. When all units are running it cools the main level well, but there is not a unit on the main level.

While we clean the house thoroughly between every visit (and then some!) this is a house on the lake- critters are a part of the experience. Orkin manages pest control, but we do NOT use poison. Please keep pets/children away from traps for safety. We encourage guests not to leave food out at night to help manage pests.

There is a wonderful boat launch only 3.5 miles away- Westport Boat Launch 80 Champlain Ave, Westport, NY 12993.

Our property is 100% smoke and vape free within the house and all outdoor areas.

Stairs down to the the dock are steep and the bank is rocky- we recommend bringing water shoes of some sort. Access to the lake is via the steep stairs- this is not a good spot for older dogs or people who have a hard time with steep stairs/rocky shores. Because the dock is put in each season, there is some rocking movement when you’re on it. We are happy to answer any questions about the lake access.

Up to two dogs are welcome for $100 per dog per stay. We can make some exceptions for a 3rd dog, please inquire. Cats are not allowed, sorry. Please make sure all waste is cleaned up, and no pets on couches or beds. We provide waste bags- please use them!

The property is not suitable for parties, and there is a firm no smoking policy- There is a $250 recovery fee for guests who do not comply in order to cover the extensive cost of restoring guest rooms to a smoke-free condition. Thank you for helping keep our space enjoyable for all guests!

Kayleigh & David are courteous responsive hosts. Booking was confirmed promptly and message replies were timely. Wonderful property with plenty of amenities. House is three levels of living with several comfortable areas to relax/enjoy amazing lake views, beautiful sunrises. While it was a bit chilly for us to use the screened in porch or upper balcony, these options allow for pleasant convenient outdoor access. Kitchen has dishes/cooking supplies necessary for meal prep/dining. We were impressed by the well-stocked pantry with numerous spices and basic food staples. As coffee lovers we also appreciated the high-end drip coffee machine w/grinder provided. The main level bath is new beautifully renovated w/walk-in shower. We enjoyed a brisk outing in the kayaks. Kudos to host recommendation to bring wetsuits in the off-season/early spring. This made cold weather kayaking safe/enjoyable. It was a little tricky getting in the water. But listing is clear about steep rocky shore access so we weren't surprised by it. Loved being able to warm up afterward in new outdoor sauna with window overlooking the lake!We chose this location for the short drive to visit Ausable Chasm. After hiking gorge waterfall trails, we visited Rulfs Orchard country store/bakery near there. Huge selection of merchandise and goodies. It's obvious the hosts seek to offer a superior vacation rental and appear to be making ongoing improvements. We hope to return someday.
