Ideal walking and fishing country, yet close to famous attractions - visitors can step back in time at the Beamish Open Air Museum or visit the Metro Centre (a shopper’s paradise), Hexham (with its glorious abbey), Durham City (a city of contrasts, with its fine cathedral and designer shops), or the Northumberland coast, which are all within an hour’s drive. The medieval castle of Raby has a 200-acre deer park and is a firm favourite with visitors. An ideal location to explore all the surrounding AONB. Shop 500 yards.
