It lies 300 yards from the owners’ home and walks abound from the doorstep into the rolling Sussex countryside. Bodiam Castle is a short drive and the Rother Valley offers holidaymakers boating and fishing. Take a trip on the Kent and East Sussex Vintage Steam Railway or experience Pullman dining. Pashley Manor, Great Dixter and Sissinghurst Gardens are a short drive. Rye 11 miles. Camber Sands 14½ miles. Fishing farm at Hawkhurst just 2 miles away. Golf course 5 miles. A comfortable stay as usual at Ivy cottage. Quiet location and helpful hosts. Cottage is well equipped, clean and cosy. Our third stay, and we would be happy to return.

Ivy Cottage was one of the best places we’ve had the pleasure of staying at. The barn has been renovated to a high standardand is very clean. The garden is characterful and spacious, and a feature of the property we loved. No issues at all with hot water and the bath was perfect, with more than enough towels. The provisions were brilliant including full supplies of essentials and bbq lighter packs for example. It’s incredibly private and the owners were so helpful when needed, giving advice on local attractions too. We visited Rye Harbour, Eastbourne, Hastings and Winchelsea Beach (very quiet with lots of roadside parking). The White Dog Inn was very friendly serving local produce. We would love to return to Ivy Cottage!

If you are looking for a quiet cosy relaxing location this is for you. Lovely welcome pack when we arrived.
Our only negative was the no WiFi/tv signal, we didn’t mind the WiFi as much but we didn’t get TV reception for the whole visit, in this day and age a signal booster and free view would be great.
We enjoyed many lovely baths and lots of jigsaws.
Close to Hastings for shopping. The white Dog pub down the road was lovely too.
