It has gone through many changes since then, but imagine the memories that have been created along the way. The owner now opens the door to this cottage for you to build memories just as their family has.

Tucked along Lakeshore Drive in Douglas, this older cottage is a haven for the beach lover. Feel the lake breeze, watch the waves, or take a stroll along miles of shoreline. You cannot get closer to the beach and still be only minutes from downtown Douglas and Saugatuck.

Douglas Beach Cottage offers sleeping for 10 across 4 bedrooms, 2 full and 1 half bathroom, and unbeatable views of Lake Michigan. Cathedral ceilings grace the large and open living room. The furnishings are older but that won`t matter as you will want to spend your entire vacation outdoors. Kick back and relax on the covered back porch overlooking the lake. Or descend your private stairs to take a dip in the cool water.

A flight of 42 stairs is required to reach this home from the road and it would not be suitable for those who have trouble with stairs.
This is an original cottage. It smells and feels like a true cottage. If you are looking for new, this is not for you. If you are looking for a steady classic, this is it. Original wood floors, walls, and ceilings. 
Due to the beachfront location, the floors are perpetually sandy. Even after being freshly swept, vacuumed, and mopped, you will still find some sand underfoot.
Cell phone reception can be spotty along the lakeshore. Your phone may switch between Eastern Standard Time (Michigan) and Central Standard Time (Illinois and Wisconsin). Internet is provided by Frontier as high-speed cable internet is not available here. 
There are no laundry services available at the cottage. A laundromat is just a mile up the road in Douglas.
