About this house rental
Welcome to "Watersedge" on Beautiful Lake Hartwell with Newly Renovated Bathrooms and A BRAND NEW HOT TUB!! This pet friendly lake house sleeps 14 in beds (queen air mattress available for 2 additional guests). Our property is perfect for 3 average sized families, a multi-generational vacation, or a friend get-away. The master bedroom has a private bathroom, king bed, twin day-bed, and trundle for little ones that like to be close to mom or dad.
Walk onto the back deck just steps from the bed and catch a lake sunrise. The main level also has two lovely, queen bedrooms; one with a brand new en-suite full bath (Queen BR #2) and a shared hall full bath, fully furnished, eat-in kitchen, formal dining room and large yet cozy living room. Older kids will love the bunk room (sleeps 6) in the basement and their personal rec room complete with ping pong, air hockey, and a variety of board games. The rec room also has a full size fridge for extra food and beverages. An additional living area and bathroom complete the basement.
Outdoor living? You bet! This house has that too. With a screened porch on the main level and remote - controlled awning on the upper deck, no need to run inside when the afternoon thunderstorms roll in. The lower deck has additional seating and a hammock perfect for relaxing after a day on the lake. The hot tub is located on the lower deck.
Interested in a boat rental? Our neighbors rent their pontoon and will deliver it directly to you at our dock. With the historically low water levels, you will currently have to beach the boat just in front of our dock, and walk through the edge of the water to get to the ladder. This cove is a stone’s throw to big water so boaters won’t waste daylight traveling to open water for their favorite sports. Water Toys Included with the rental: 2 Kayaks, 2 Kid Size Kayaks, 1 Canoe and 1 Paddleboat. A short 20-minute drive to Clemson with grocery and pharmacies about 5 minutes away, you can be close to the action of college football weekends with the peace and serenity of lake life.
Home schooling? E-learning to complete? Working on vacation? Free Wi-Fi available. But we’d encourage you to pause the technology for a morning of fishing and a family ping pong tournament in the evening.

We enjoyed our home away from home. There was a well stocked kitchen, basic needs met immediately, clean, lots of space for a family gathering, and plenty of games…as if the lake wasn’t enough fun! We would definitely recommend staying here, very easy owners to work with and the house had everything to visit and focus on family and fun.

Tom is an excellent communicator! He answered almost every question within minutes. The area is beautiful! The property is right on the lake with a large dock access and the house includes some kayaks, a fire pit area, and a hot tub. This was great for our family! We came in the colder time of year and it was great to unplug an look out at the view while playing cards as a big group. The house has ample space! It is larger in person than in the pictures and the view is really nice. Super quiet neighborhood.Thanks for the great stay Tom! Our family really enjoyed it!

Our family recently stayed at this property and, while we enjoyed several aspects of the home, our experience was mixed due to a number of challenges that future guests should be aware of.
The house itself is spacious, comfortable, and well‑located. The beds were comfortable, the large common areas allowed our family to gather easily, and the enclosed porch was a daily favorite. We also appreciated the proximity to shops, gas stations, and local activities.
However, we encountered several issues that affected the quality of our stay:
*Kitchen supplies were limited.
*The grill and kayaks were not clean.
*The ping pong paddles were unusable; we went to buy our own.
*The guest bathroom had visible mold.
*The TV systems were difficult to navigate.
*The pathway to the water is extremely steep, which made it inaccessible for the seniors in our group. This significantly limited our ability to enjoy the dock area as a family.
The driveway is also very steep, which created challenges for our older family members, including one who uses a walker.
The most significant issue was the extremely low water level, which made the dock unusable for boating or fishing—two of the main reasons we booked this property. It was impossible to dock a boat or fish from the dock. The listing highlights, "Bring the boat!", good thing we didn't. We request a small refund to reflect the discrepancies in the listing, but our request was refused, which was disappointing.
