About this villa rental
Beautiful 5 bedroom villa (220sqm) in elevated position, with stunning panoramic views over the Rhone valley, the town of Orange and Mont Ventoux.
Within the 5000 sqm garden, there is a private, well maintained pool (9m x 4m) surrounded by a large well-furnished sun terrace, and a pool house with a kitchenette, WC and outdoor shower.
Situated within the forest, the villa is very secluded, but the local amenities - grocery shop (with fresh bread daily), bar, 2 restaurants, hairdressers, post office, petanque (boules) area and tennis courts, are just a 5 minute walk away.
On the ground floor, the large open plan lounge and dining area has 2 sets of patio doors leading to sun terraces, and there is a separate TV lounge and reading / games area with a fireplace. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped and there is a separate utility room plus a laundry room.
Three of the comfortable bedrooms are on the ground floor and share a bathroom and separate WC (two of these are double rooms and one has twin beds). Upstairs is another large double bedroom with its own private sun terrace and another double bedroom with another south/west facing sun terrace. The upstairs bedrooms share a shower room and separate WC.
The layout of the house makes it ideal for large groups or for 2 families holidaying together, and there are plenty of indoor & outdoor seating / relaxing / dining areas.
The local area provides lots of sporting activities including mountain biking, cycling, hiking, golfing, fishing, tennis, and kayaking. Within close proximity, there are many interesting things to do and places to visit - Festival d'Avignon, Fete de l'ail, WAM Park at Piolenc, Choregies d'Orange, Ferme aux crocodiles, Gorges de l'Ardeche, Mont Ventoux, Pont du Gard, Roman Amphitheatre in Orange, Forteresse de Mornas, the vineyards of Chateauneuf du Pape.
There are many wonderful restaurants locally (5 in Uchaux alone) offering everday French food through to Fine Dining, with a lot more in the surrounding towns and villages. Most french towns will have a weekly market selling a wide variety of merchandise - the nearest one - in Orange - is on Thursday morning.
And no trip to this area would be complete without a visit to one of the numerous local vineyards for a "degustation" (wine tasting) so that you can wile away the hours in the sunshine with a glass of excellent local wine.
