About this house rental
Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this quiet in town home! Enjoy walking to the shops and restaurants of Southwest Harbor and being just a short drive to some of the best attractions in Acadia National Park. Bass Harbor Lighthouse, Seawall, Beech Mountain, Echo Lake and Somes Sound are all quickly accessible from this home. Bar Harbor and Northeast Harbor are both just over 20 mins by car away. An Island Explorer stop is just over a quarter mile away.
Whether you're cooking a meal in our well stocked kitchen, working on a puzzle, enjoying a family movie, or planning your next adventure, your entire group will enjoy the open concept living area of this property. The comfy sectional couch is large enough to seat your entire group while enjoying the huge tv ready for your streaming services. The half bath and laundry room are conveniently located just off the living space. There will be a window ac unit installed in this area Jun- Aug.
The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials, including a lobster pot! There are many great restaurants within walking distance, but if you are planning to cook at home, you will have all the items you need.
The three season room is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or a book. The large entry area is perfect for storing all your hiking gear.
All three bedrooms and the full bath are located on the second floor. The cozy bunk room features a twin bed over a full bed. Both other bedrooms feature queen beds. All our mattresses are brand new. All bedrooms will have window ac units installed Jun-Aug.
The private deck is ideal for enjoying your lobsters and a local brew. The propane grill is large enough to cook for your entire group. The backyard is shared with the house behind this one and is a great spot for playing cornhole or tuning up your bikes for your next ride on the Carriage Roads.
Located on the west side of Mount Desert Island, Southwest Harbor if a great base for exploring popular Acadia sights such as Bass Harbor Lighthouse, Echo Lake, Long Pond, Somes Sound, and the Wonderland areas. Bar Harbor or Northeast Harbor are an easy drive or you can enjoy a ride there on the free Island Explorer during the summer season. Our guests have access to our on line guest guide, which gives loads of insider info on some of the best hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, and eating spots on MDI!

Quietside Cottage was in a great location, just a short walk to Southwest Harbor (shops and restaurants). The home was fine (sunporch great), but needs some maintenance to make it great. Communication with the manager was very good and their digital guide best I have seen.

We had a wonderful stay at Quietside Cottage. We loved the quiet street for our kids to walk and ride bikes on; we loved proximity to town to be able to walk to ice cream, coffee, and restaurants. We loved proximity to hiking in Acadia, and swimming at Echo lake. We loved proximity to the SW bus stop to be able to get to Bar Harbor without a car. In terms of the house itself, the three season room was our favorite place to be - very comfortable for our kids and for us. The bedrooms were small but comfortable, with much-needed AC units throughout. We loved having laundry machines as our little kids generate laundry fast!Our toddler really loved the big bathtub and enjoyed his nightly splashes.Only note to add, for parents of little kids - there is an open area of the staircase so that was a potential hazard that we were able to navigate with careful one-to-one supervision while on the stairs. Would encourage adding that to the listing description, or a photo of it for full disclosure ahead of time.

The location on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island was exactly what we were looking for—peaceful, scenic, and away from the crowds, yet still an easy drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor.

Great house and location. Jen was a very helpful and accommodating host. The on-line guide to area attractions, shops and restaurants was absolutely amazing- the best I have ever seen. Highly recommended.
