Mark Hughes is a great host. We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. The house is spacious, well-designed, and equipped with modern amenities that made it both comfortable and relaxing. One of the highlights was the breathtaking view — deer were around all day, every day, which made the experience feel truly special and peaceful.The property offers plenty of privacy and is perfect for enjoying country living, yet it’s close enough to town to easily enjoy Fredericksburg’s shops, restaurants, and attractions. It was the perfect balance of quiet retreat and convenient location. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing Hill Country getaway.

Host was accommodating

This is our second time staying at the cottage and we love it! We love the privacy and rural area where the deer come to visit daily -a nice distance away from Fredericksburg. The cottage is well equipped, clean and baby friendly as we had a one year old and the playpen came in handy. The spaces were comfortable for our family of 6 plus a tiny one and we loved having all king beds in the bedrooms. The bathroom with the clawfoot tub was wonderful and the showers (heads) were appreciated by the guys. The firepit was a treat for us on a chilly evening and we enjoyed sitting in the beautiful backyard with the baby. We liked having a separate dining area to eat and play games and the washer and dryer were so handy. The kitchen was fully equipped for our needs-even making Thanksgiving dinner! Having the kid friendly family winery next door was a wonderful experience as well- so pretty, quiet and accessible. We left a baby item and the owners were very accommodating to mail it to us. This has become our traditional family Thanksgiving spot to go to each year. We just hope we don't outgrow it soon! :)
