About this house rental

Treloweth is an impressive 3-storey house on Windsor Terrace which is situated in a peaceful area of St Ives yet it is within a 5 minute walk of the town centre and Porthmeor beach. The house can sleep 8 comfortably in 4 bedrooms with 2 ensuite shower rooms and a family bathroom also. With 2 parking spaces directly opposite the house, holidaying in St Ives couldn’t be easier when staying at Treloweth!

On the ground floor, you enter a hallway decorated with its original tesselle floor tiles and leads to the heart of the home; the kitchen. It is well-equipped with an induction hob, oven, dishwasher, coffee-maker and enough crockery to cater for a large family. There is a utility area with washing machine and tumble drier which also houses the essential hoover and mop and bucket too. From the kitchen, you walk through to the living area which has a large, comfy sofa facing a wood burner and TV with basic SKY TV package as well as an additional sofa in a chill out zone where you can relax, and listen to your favourite tunes via the Marshall Acton Bluetooth speaker. A large bay window with high ceilings allows light to flood into the room and you can see distant sea views over the roof tops.

There is an ingeniously hidden downstairs cloakroom that is just off the kitchen and then, if you go up to the first floor, you will arrive to the master bedroom with an ensuite, another king-sized bedroom and a twin bedroom as well as the family bathroom. The front master bedroom has captivating sea views, high ceilings and a cleverly designed ensuite wet room and wardrobe area. The king size bed is hand crafted and the bedroom brings space, light and real sense of ‘relax’. Next door is another king size bedroom again with bespoke carpentry for shelving and hanging space. Along the hallway is the family bathroom that has twin shower heads, wash basin, bath and WC. At the end of that hallway is the twin bedroom, it too has some wonderful bespoke carpentry that creates a mezzanine but due to safety restrictions, the mezzanine is not for guest use.

Finally, if you go up another flight of stairs, you will arrive at the Vispring double bedroom with ensuite wet room which is cleverly crafted into the loft eaves. A cabrio velux offers a bird’s nest view of the town towards the sea over the St Ives orange roofs. It is definitely a room we feel that will be popular due to its sense of sanctuary and gives an ‘away from it all’ vibe with its own TV and ensuite, what more do you want!

Treloweth is a short walk from the centre of St Ives to the shop-lined Fore Street or harbour front with its cafes, restaurants, ice-cream parlours and independent shops. You are also just 5 minutes from the super popular surfing beach of Porthmeor (be warned, you need to walk up a steep hill first!) and 10 minutes from Porthminster beach where you can try your hand at Stand-Up paddleboarding or sea kayaking. You can reach all 5 of St Ives’ beaches on foot easily, as well as visit art galleries such as The Tate Gallery, Barbara Hepworth museum, The Leach Pottery and other private galleries in the town. In fact, you have such choice on your doorstep within walking distance, you may not even explore further afield. There are great restaurants in St Ives ranging from vegan to seafood heaven. You have a choice of takeaways from fish and chips to paella and, during the summer months, you can get one of West beach’s delicious pizzas and watch the sun set on Porthmeor beach.

You have 2 parking spaces so we highly recommend exploring the rest of Cornwall. Why try North Cornwall and its fabulous surf at Hayle and Gwithian Towans or South Cornwall to the Helford passage which has the beautiful tropical gardens such as Glendurgan or Trebah. Perhaps try further West and enjoy the dramatic landscapes of Land’s End and the white sands of Sennen Cove. Visit the Minack theatre to watch some outdoor theatrics and you may spot a dolphin in the bay too! Drive to the other end of Cornwall to the Lizard and dip your toe into the turquoise waters of Kynance Cove.

Please note:

The area to park in its entirety is 4.9m x 5.4m

The garden is accessed down steps from the parking area so please note it is not directly attached to the main house. There is a covered space that the owners of Treloweth are happy for you to use to store surfboards, bikes, kayaks etc but you do so at your own risk.

2 x well-behaved dogs (up to 18kgs) are welcome. A pet fee applies of £50 per pet per week which we collect from guests once the property is booked (terms and conditions apply). Please let us know the age, sex and breed when booking.

We have been going to St Ives for over 35 years, we have stayed in many types of accommodation over the years ranging from Ayr Holiday park, studios, cottages etc. Treloweth was up there in our top 3. Great location, views, facilities and lots or room for our family of 6+ a 3year old. Had a great week would definitely revisit and recommend.

The property is in a great location, however on quite a step road so won’t be ideal for everyone. The en-suites are disappointing and not very practical as they are just behind the bed and it’s all open. Downstairs the accommodation is good lots of space in the living area and kitchen/dinning.

The location is only 5 minutes walk from the Harbour. We had a fantastic week. Thank you

Treloweth is the perfect holiday home. The view from the terrace was stunning. The layout and facilities were excellent. A ten minute walk to the beach one way and ten minute walk the other way to the shops and harbour. It was a shame that some of the restaurants cancelled our bookings (top tip book before you go as the good restaurants get booked up quickly) due to lack of staff. Beaches are clean and sea is crystal clear, you could be in the carribean. Would definitely recommend this house, quite expensive but well worth it.

Great property Great location (very hilly, not for those with mobility issues) 10 min walk down to the harbour and 8 min walk the other way to one of the main beaches We were two families, plenty of space and big bedrooms House has everything you need, all the equipment is really good quality and the furnishings are nice There’s a very steep hill to access the property and lots of steps to the front door. limited outdoor space Would recommend this property
