🏖️ 2 miles to Playa Espadilla (Manuel Antonio Beach) — 5-minute bus ride from the main road
✈️ 100 miles from San José Airport — approximately a 2-hour scenic drive
🚗 A rental car is recommended if a 10–15 minute walk is not preferred

Bordering Manuel Antonio National Park, Casa Tranquilidad offers something no resort can replicate — raw, unfiltered Costa Rican nature as a daily backdrop. Monkeys, sloths, scarlet macaws, toucans, iguanas, butterflies, and coatis are regular visitors to the property. Because the villa is fully integrated into its natural jungle setting, guests may also encounter insects such as ants, mosquitoes, or spiders, as well as the occasional lizard or snake. These interactions are a natural and authentic part of the Costa Rican experience, and we take every precaution to keep them minimal.
📜 House Rules
1. A signed rental agreement with names, ages, and photo ID is required within 24 hours of booking. The primary renter must be at least 25 years old and must be staying at the property. No unregistered guests are permitted at any time.
2. A $500 security deposit hold and a one-time $37 admin fee are required at time of booking.
3. Quiet hours are strictly enforced from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
4. Guests are responsible for locking all doors and windows when leaving the property — safeguarding its contents and your personal belongings.
5. Costa Rica may experience temporary power outages during heavy rain storms. This is not unusual and typically resolves within a few minutes to a couple of hours. Emergency flashlights are provided throughout the house. No refunds are given for acts of God.
6. All bedrooms are fully air-conditioned. Bedroom doors must remain closed when the AC is running and should be turned off when the room is unoccupied.
7. Third-party travel insurance is required to cover any cancellations outside our cancellation policy.
8. No pets, smoking, loud music, commercial photography, parties, or events.
9. Pre-arrival guest verification through Truvi is required. Truvi will contact you via email and/or text — please complete this before arriving for a smooth check-in.
10. Check-in: 3:00 PM — Check-out: 10:00 AM.

We loved our stay in this lovely house. It was clean, the grounds were beautiful and the house spacious enough for the 5 families in our family group. I feel the host thought of everything to make our trip successful, including daily maid and grounds service. Having the Concierge help us plan our trip was wonderful. She gave us many great hints on how to navigate the area. She also set us up with Chef Robert, who cooked such great meals and cleaned up. We would recommend a dinner place called Ronny's Place for the sunsets, which are beautiful in Manuel Antonio. All in all, we had a great time and recommend this house highly.

Our host, Susan, was awesome. Met us when we arrived and explained everything. We had a chef who was fantastic and made our vacation feel like a vacation. Loved all the monkeys. A great family from USA celebrating Thanksgiving.

We are a family-ages 4-86, visiting CR for the first time. This was an incredible vacation and the house was more than perfect! We had plenty of room, space to spread out, easy access to everything from grocery stores to restaurants to excursions. We felt cared for by Susan, Andrea, Paco, and everyone else involved in our time at Casa Tranquilidad.

Could not have been happier with this property. Our group of 11 (spanning all ages) had an amazing stay. Close to the National Park and plenty of other attractions but the best days were when we had lots of time at the house. Hanging out by the pool we saw toucans, macaws, and monkeys and lots of great birdwatching in the mornings. The recommended chefs were great and Susan was incredible helping us with all of our planning. We would love to come back some day!
