Welcome to Acorn Cottage a cosy retreat for two
Entire cottage near Helston
2 guests - 1 bedroom - bathroom - sitting room - kitchen.
Located in the countryside hamlet of Crowntown near the market town of Helston
Acorn Cottage is a cosy self contained newly modernised cottage with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. It is ideally situated for visiting all the well known towns of West Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula, such as St Ives, Falmouth, Penzance and Lands End. The spectacular South West Coast Path is within easy reach.
The Space -
The cottage is detached with it own entrance , parking and enclosed patio.
The interior comprises a hallway leading to a bedroom to the left and sitting room/kitchen to the right, and separate bathroom which has underfloor heating and heated towel rail. Towels are provided (bring your own beach towels).
The cosy bedroom has a double bed and smart tv, (bedding is supplied). The bedroom and living room have modern electric, easily adjustable radiators for your comfort.
The living room is equipped with a smart tv and traditional board games. Good wifi coverage throughout.
The kitchen is well equipped with all the necessary bits and bobs if you like cooking while on holiday.
The french doors lead out to your own walled patio,a lovely place to sit and take in the view while having breakfast.
Things to do -
Cornwall is rich in festivals and fairs. The nearby town of Helston is famous for its Flora Day festival in May, and the Penzance Montal Festival held in December. A comprehensive list of the festivals and things to do in the area will be available in the cottage.
Helston Steam Railway is a short walk from the cottage and has a cafe and shop.
If geocaching is your thing, or you have ever thought of giving it a try, then Acorn Cottage is the perfect location. Information, if you are interested, is in the cottage and your hosts are happy to give you advice to get you started as they have been doing it for many years.
The nearest beaches are Porthleven with its pretty harbour, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, and the surf beach Praa Sands. On the North coast Hayle with its "three miles of golden sands" is 10 minutes away, and St Ives with its many beaches and attractions.

Really lovely and quiet location, just a short drive from the beach (12 mins) and in our 3 day (2 nights) break we were able to visit the Minack Theatre, Lands End, St Michaels Mount, the Seal Sanctuary and Port Isaac (Port Wenn if you’re a Doc Martin fan).We also went to porthLeven twice for dinner so definitely a great positionThe cottage itself is sooo nice, excellently fitted out with a very useable kitchen, and lounge area. The shower is simple to use and the bedroom is comfy.Loved the little patio, make a brew, wrap up and spot satellites… there is no light pollution!We loved our stay here at Acorn cottage and will 100% go back.

The property is a lovely little bolt hole.. Fully equipped with everything you need in the kitchen. Lovely clean & fresh.Check in was easy and directions given were great.It has a lovely little patio with beautiful views.It is in a very good location for exploring, we particularly wanted to visit the Lizard area again so that was ideal.
