A luxurious fitted kitchen/dining room including range cooked, american style fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. On the first floor the huge main bedroom is quite simply a stunning airy double bedded room, the second bedroom (still larger than most main bedrooms) has two single divan beds. We had the pleasure of staying in the Edwardian wing of Bonawe House. A stunning apartment and the perfect place to relax and refresh after a day or two of sightseeing… both around Oban and on the Isles of Mull and Iona. Great food was available within 10 minutes, a lovely little village shop and a lovely garden only added to our enjoyment. The lounge is a space to behold and made for lovely evenings, and the main bedroom was something quite special. On my bucket list for a longer stay in my retirement.

We were overwhelmed by this stunning house. It was large, roomy, comfortable, extremely gentile, and was surrounded by beautiful property and views. This is one of those out of the way places that you would never find on your own. For me, staying in a classic manor house like this gave me the chance to live, for just a few days, the way I imagine British nobility live when they visit the countryside. It’s a wonderful place to stay If you just want to relax and take walks, and watch the mountain views outside change with the weather and the light. The house had a wonderful kitchen, 1 1/2 bathrooms, and a washer and dryer. The full bath and bedrooms are upstairs, so it is very much a house, and not just an apartment. My daughter enjoyed playing the piano, which was in good tune! And there are puzzles and games. If you come you should plan to stay several days just to take it all in. It is within a few minutes walk to the Bonawe Furnace historic site, which is an interesting visit. And there are nice beach walks nearby. My husband did some fishing, and while he didn’t catch anything, he enjoyed conversations with other fishermen on the pier. We’d love to come back again and spend more time exploring this area.

This property is gorgeous--from the lovely home to the peaceful meadow full of of sheep and cows that it overlooks--and the mountains and loch in the distance. When we stepped into the Edwardian Wing, we felt transported to another era! It is spacious and thoughtfully decorated and furnished with an eye to historic detail. We wished that we could have stayed longer to explore the area more thoroughly. We regret that we never got to experience the Robin's Nest Tearoom minutes away in Taynuilt--but enjoyed exploring Oban, Glencoe and Fort William. What a beautiful area! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay--we hope to return soon!
