About this house rental

1840s Greek Revival cottage in the beautiful Schoharie Valley, situated beside a placid creek overlooking a horse pasture and distant hills. The two bedroom, two bath house has been completely renovated with new mechanical systems, new kitchen and baths and washer/dryer and is fully furnished with antique furnishings. The kitchen has a new propane stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, pots and pans, dishes, and cutlery. The baths have a shower, but no tub. Linens and towels are provided. The first bedroom has a double bed and the second has two twin beds. That said, it is an old house in the country. That will be the charm for many people, hopefully including those reading this, but there may be occasional mechanical issues beyond my control and I appreciate your patience if so. There is convenient off-street parking and 1/3 acre of gardens, with convenient access to state parks, restaurants, recreational facilities, antiquing and cultural and historic sites.

Such a beautiful, cozy place! I loved the antique yet modern decor and the sound of the Schoharie creek running in back. And I got to see the neighbors horses every day too! I could just imagine how it looks when everything is in bloom. It must be absolutely gorgeous. You can tell that Steven puts a lot of care into his garden and house. We had a restful sleep and we did our rounds visiting the Carrot Barn and the Apple Barrel which are about 20-30 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat!

Lovely older home. The owner was very helpful and friendly.

The sulfer water is the only reason we would not come back. The house is very nice. Lots of antiques and pretty rooms, but nothing to really hangout and relax on. 2-3 stuffed chairs all in different rooms. The living room couch is not something you can really relax on. Lots of chairs, but more like dining chairs. The full bed was comfortable. The whole places need a good vacuum and dusting around the floors and corners. Found a sock under one of the beds and one of the dressers. Could see from where I was standing. Not bad if you are just for a night or 2 to attend an event. But don’t plan to hang around the house. It’s not that kind of house.
