Be our guest in a real log cabin tucked away in the high country of the Catskill Mountains. This cabin has six rms and a screened porch:
2 Bedroom, Living & Dining Room, Full Bath, Kitchen, Screen Porch.
Sleeps 6 people comfortably: 1st bedroom has queen bed, 2nd
bedroom twin beds and a full size futon.
The cabin sits on 32 wooded acres which has it's own tranquil beaver
pond. Enjoy our outside firepit under the stars.
This area holds whitetail deer, bear, turkey and several species of small game, upland birds as well as freshwater fish so fishing and hunting is in abundance here in Preston Hollow. If Skiing is your thing it is a short 20/30 min drive (depends on conditions) to Windham and Hunter mountains a bit longer to Belleayre & Platterkill. This is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of crowded slope side lodging. You can drive to the baseball Hall of Fame, Howe & Secret Caverns and it's only minutes to the Zoom Flume water park.
There are several picture postcard golf courses in surrounding communities.
Major NYS snowmobile trails are within minutes of this Cozy Cabin.
Winter Months: Between November and March.
If you plan your stay during these months you should plan on snow. The cabin is at an elevation that receives snow when most forecast for this area call for rain. Dress for winter, including snow boots.
The road is a private road that we pay to have plowed. Plowing is done on an as needed basis and there is no salt and sand treatment of the road. If you here a horn beep outside, it is the plow driver asking you to move your vehicle so he can clear the driveway. Please comply and move your vehicle as soon as possible.
Four Wheel or All Wheel drive vehicles are recommended during this time.

We stayed here for the weekend - it was so cozy and just perfect! we loved using the wood stove and going on the short hikes on the property. It's a perfect place to rest and disconnect. It was so beautiful in the fall, but I imagine it would be lovely in the summer and even cozier in the winter! It was so quiet, clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. I loved all the little decor items that made it feel very homey. Paul was great at communicating the whole trip, and helped us when we locked ourselves out haha! Thank you Paul for such a memorable weekend!

We loved our stay at the cabin. Everything was as pictured and clean on arrival. The location is secluded and there was plenty of room for our dog to roam. The wood stove is a major attraction, and during summer months, the screened in porch would be perfect. There is a beaver pond on the property, but the ground is boggy and there is a lot of brush, so it's difficult to get a clear view. The glimpses we had were pretty though. Highly recommend!

Overall, it was a really nice home & we had a pleasant stay. Inside the home was as displayed on the listing & we had a good time enjoying a fire inside on a very snowy weekend. Pros: Check-in was easy & flexible. The wood-stove was great to help heat the home in the freezing cold. Cozy & cute atmosphere.Cons: There was unfortunately no snow removal at all. We arrived to the home with the property completely covered in snow with no attempt at a cleared path to the home and no space to walk besides following the owners' previous footprints. *If you have ANY mobility/stability/balance concerns, I would not recommend coming here in winter. We are both young, athletic people & we were unstable walking on the high snow each time we left the home.*The bigger issue was that a storm was anticipated for the days we were there with upwards of 7-9" of snow predicted. The owner told us that a woman who lives down the street decides if/when a plow comes. By the time we were leaving, it had snowed about 4" and the plow never came. It took us nearly an hour to shovel our car out of the driveway & partly down the unplowed road. That's not including the time to just actually get the car moving off the thick layers of ice on the driveway. TLDR-It's a nice home in a cozy, remote location that would be great to visit in summer when ice & snow aren't concerns. If you want to go in winter, be prepared to handle a borderline-treacherous unplowed icy road & unshoveled property.
