Arrive, stretch your legs, park your car right next to the vacation apartment complex for free, and start your tour of Hofraithe.
The complex, consisting of four buildings, represents the former center of Hesse’s second-smallest town. Here, we look back to the year 1699, when the Old Town Hall was built.
The historic ambiance of the houses—with their high ceilings, exposed half-timbering, wood-paneled walls, and the 1970s flair of the simple furnishings—exudes coziness, comfort, and warmth.
As you run your hand over the exposed oak beams, you can feel and sense every axe stroke from when the beams were hewn. It’s a truly wonderful feeling that also inspires respect for the work of our ancestors.

Our focus is on groups—whether families or circles of friends—in other words, anyone who would like to get together in a larger group.
Experienced self-caterers will immediately check out the fully equipped kitchen with its communal area and quickly divide up the chores for the next few days—though, for your convenience, the dishwasher takes care of most of the routine tasks. After making the beds with your own linens (or rental linens from us, upon request), it’s time to explore the grounds.
Here, you can start thinking about your shopping list while standing by the permanently installed barbecue stations, mentally selecting wines and beers that can be purchased at the nearby liquor store, or considering pre-ordering a keg of beer from the local liquor store in advance.
The ping-pong table and the small city park right next to the Hofraithe offer plenty of opportunities for games, and there are also two large playgrounds nearby for the little ones.
In the courtyard, weather permitting, the available beer bench sets can be set up, and the conversation continues merrily.
Any additional shopping can be done on foot at the local Nahkauf supermarket, which has an attached butcher shop; there’s also a bakery there for the obligatory breakfast rolls or croissants.
If you’d rather not cook, there’s an Italian and a Greek restaurant to choose from right on site, or alternatively, German cuisine in the neighboring town. Catering services from various providers round out the offerings.
There are plenty of recreational options, ranging from the solar-powered outdoor pool to hiking in the Burgwald and Kellerwald forests, the Kellerwald Nature Park with its primeval forest, the waters of Lake Eder, and a variety of well-maintained bike paths.
A visit to the beautiful half-timbered towns, such as Marburg on the Lahn or Frankenberg on the Eder, offers a welcome change of pace.
The pleasant conversations in the common room, as well as the many places to retreat—both indoors and outdoors—round out the experience.
And let’s not forget: the peace and quiet—which some might even describe as silence—has its own unique charm.

This may sound strange to you, but since we’re located in the heart of Rosenthal, we unfortunately cannot accommodate disco parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, or similar “loud” events. To avoid disappointment on both sides, we clarify this with our guests in advance.
