About this cabin rental

The Goddard Place is located 5 miles East of Anna off of Route 146. We only have one cabin. You will not be sharing the property with other renters. It is close to Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, the Southern Illinois Wine Trail, the City of Marion, and the Shawnee National Forest. Your cabin features a living area with a sleeper sofa (for the young ones in the family), a recliner, a 32' flat screen television with DirecTV and a DVD player. The kitchenette includes a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, dishes, glassware and silverware. The queen sleigh bed, jacuzzi tub and lavatory complete the room. There is a shower and plenty of towels are provided. All you need to bring is your provisions!!

My wife and I stayed at this cabin for three nights and we loved it. The outdoor area is meticulously kept. The extensive lawn was mowed and it is easy to walk around the large pond. The owners seem genuinely concerned about the view - I noticed that the satellite dish receiver is behind a tree so it can't be seen from the porch area. Although there is a house or two nearby, we didn't feel it was an intrusion. The closest we came to a "visit" was when a neighbor dog came by while we were enjoying some ice cream on the back porch. The kitchen has more than the description would suggest, since it includes a toaster and an electric skillet. The kitchen area itself is a bit small but has good lighting. I would recommend adding some fold up counter space near the fridge - it would help a lot in preparing meals. The air conditioning is very efficient - we were there during an extreme heat warning and never had a problem keeping the place cool. The place has built-in Wi-Fi provided by a Verizon cellular device, so not fast but worked well and lets you screen cast to the 40" TV. Check-in and check-out process is perfectly seamless - no troubles at all.
