Hummingird Road Cabins is located in the heart of Southern Illinois Wine Country, just off the beaten path. Down a quiet road with the beauty of Southern Illinois and the Shawnee National Forest surrounding us.
Whether you need a quiet getaway for the weekend with no hassles, or just a place to sleep after touring Southern Illinois Wine Country, we will do our best to accommodate you.
Hummingbird Road Cabin offers a quiet place in the woods to enjoy Southern Illinois from, or just stay on the property and enjoy catching some fish in the pond. We have 23 acres of woods to walk around in as well, with much wildlife around. Deer, owls, hummingbirds, squirrels, woodpeckers and eagles are just some of the wildlife we our often blessed with.
Comfort: At Hummingbird Road Cabin, we want you to feel at home, and that means being comfortable where you are. This is a rural area, very quiet, in the woods, if that sounds good to you then please come check us out. I live across the pond on the hill, if there is something you are missing or if we can do more to make your stay a better one, please let us know.

Everything was great! Easy directions and a pretty view with friendly neighborhood doggy visits. Pillows weren’t the greatest but it was very cozy and would stay again.

The host was very nice and respectful. I do believe the cabin pictures online make it look more secluded than what it is. That was okay for the most part. We were aware the owner lived across the pond, but there was also a neighbor, I'm guessing a relative maybe. He was over one evening in a loud boom lift while we were trying to fish, enjoy some wine and a fire. His dog along with the owners dog were repeatedly on the property. While we dont mind dogs, we were not told theyd be around, and they were there everytime we were outside , jumping on us. Im allergic to dogs so this was a bit frustrating. The owner of one of the dogs was driving onto the property a couple times to get his dog, so as far as privacy goes it didnt feel very private. The cabin itself wasnt bad. It was clean and well stocked, my only complaint there was with being in such close proximity to the owners house there was no curtains on the front door , the kitchen window or the back door (which the bathroom was directly across from the back door) if i could make a suggestion there, it would be to put privacy curtains up. The living room air unit worked , however the buttons were broke to adjust the temp. They did provide fire wood , but it had been sitting by the wood line and was old and wet and wouldnt light. So we had to go buy our own. Aside from these inconveniences, its a decent place to stay and i wouldnt be opposed to staying again, if they take into consideration these things.
