About this campground/ rv resort rental

Our 1976 Silver Streak Supreme camper is a retro time capsule that’s been tastefully updated with comfortable furnishings and amenities. The 27 foot long aluminum trailer overlooks Seneca Lake through Shagbark Hickory trees where bald eagles occasionally perch. It's located in the heart of wine country, with at least 10 wineries within 10 miles as well as breweries, a cider house, and distillery.

The private area around the camper includes a campfire ring with surrounding Adirondack chairs, table and chairs, grill, and a nearby large enclosed outdoor shower. The layout consists of an entry living room and kitchen, bathroom, and back bedroom. The living room has two large comfortable chairs, an ottoman, and table. The kitchen is stocked with cookware and tools, and includes a double sink, stove-top, oven, small retro microwave, and small retro refrigerator. The bathroom has a small indoor shower, toilet, and sink, and the bedroom has a full-size comfortable bed with plenty of cozy blankets. Please note that the camper ceilings are 76 inches high and the doorways are 18 inches wide.

There is no lake frontage available for guests to enjoy, however, Lodi Point State Park, Caywood Point, and Clute Park are available for swimming and picnicing. Kayak rentals are available in Watkins Glen as well.

There are two air conditioners that keep the camper nice and cool. There are three wall heaters that keep the camper comfortable from about May 15th through October 1st (i.e., when the average outdoor low temperature is 47°F or above). With all three wall heaters set to high, we estimate the inside temperature of the camper will stay above 65 degrees as long as the outdoor temperature stays above about 45 degrees.

The camper is located on a hill above a rustic/country-style neighborhood with summer cottages and homes. Please be aware that it is accessible via a steep road. We measured grade in several places and determined that the road is at an angle of 18 to 23 degrees from the horizontal. Guests will need to arrive in 4WD/AWD vehicles with good tires to navigate this hill and to park. There is enough parking space for two small vehicles or one large truck. Also, you can’t tow a boat on a trailer up this hill, but you probably could put a couple of kayaks on top of your vehicle or a couple of bikes on the back of your vehicle.

There is a TV in the living room and one in the bedroom. Each TV has a Roku remote, so if you can use your cell phone as a hot spot, you can watch a small number of Roku channel TV shows and movies. Or, you can log into your own account on Netflix, etc. There is also a bluetooth speaker in the bedroom. We don't supply internet.

Local Area

Nearby attractions include 1) Watkins Glen State Park (the gorge), 2) Taughannock Falls State Park, 3) Watkins Glen Marina, with kayak and paddle board rentals, 4) Watkins Glen Clute Park, with swimming and a picnic area (on the southern end of Seneca Lake), 5) Lodi Point State Park, with swimming and a picnic area, 6) Finger Lakes National Forest, 7) Seneca Lake Wine Trail, 8) Deer Haven Park (white deer), and 9) Catherine Valley Trail, which is good for bike riding.

Cute, fun stay.Do believe the host though when she says that a 4wd or all wd is recommended to get up the driveway. I did it with a front wd but it was a little dicey and I’m an old guy that’s driven a lot.Beautiful setting and great location for accessing wineries and other attractions Jerry
