This was the perfect place for us to be away from the city of York, but close enough to enjoy our drive in. The area itself is very peaceful, and the cottage was well stocked with everything we needed! The little touches were much appreciated as well! Thank you so much. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone.

Had a lovely weekend, in this lovely cottage that is a lot bigger than it looks in the photos. We had snow so it was freezing outside but the underfloor heating made the cottage all nice and warm. The cottage is like a home away from home, all the home comforts that you require and even a box of toys for children to keep them entertained. The train station is within walking distance and its 10 mins on the train into York, which saves all the bother about trying to find a parking space or driving around York. The Local pub, 'the boot and shoe' is highly recommended, lovely food, roaring fire and very welcoming. The owners,Sally and Andy, were lovely, popped around to make sure we were alright and left us to our own devices, but were on call if need be. There was a welcome pack from them upon arrival, which was a really nice touch. We had such a lovely weekend and we really tried not to let the weather spoil it for us, will definatly go back again for another weekend.

We arrived here very late at night after getting lost a couple of times enroute from London so it was lovely to crash into a warm bed in a warm cottage. The cottage is very well positioned, walking distance to the local pubs which serve lovely meals in a very friendly environment. Its also very handy to York and the northern parts of Yorkshire such as Durham.
The upstairs living area is very well laid out and we appreciated the excellent range of DVDs and CDs. The kitchen was well appointed and everything was clean and modern.
The only disappointment was the floor heating. It wasnt evenly installed across the slate floor, so most of the bathroom floor was cold, whilst spots just inside the front door were very warm as were patches of the carpeted areas upstairs.
We visited in autumn, but this would be a lovely place to stay in summer as the countryside is so beautiful!

The shops were quite near so we had everything we needed. The washing machine was a bit tricky but a call to Salli {who was on Hols herself!}soon set us on the right track Threr was plenty of dvd's ect to make our nights in very cozy

The cottage was wonderful. The photos on the inetrnet didn't do it justice. The cottage was clean and modern and spacious. The underfloor heating was a luxury. Our family went for a short break and loved the cottage and the surrounding area. We will definitely recommend it to friends and family. It was great for exploring York and Harrogate. Great food can be found at the local pubs. The owners were very friendly and the welcome pack they left for us on arrival was great. We would highly recommend this cottage.

We have stayed in the cottage twice now in the last Two years and both times have loved our stay, The cottage is so homely and very well furnished, decorated witrh some lovely touches. Sally and Andy are lovely people and were very helpful but no way intrusive atall.
We enjoyed some lovely days out in York and Scarborough. We had planned to go out in the evening but found ourselves staying in as it was so cosy.
We would highly recommend the cottage to couples and families and will defenatly visit again.
