About this cottage rental
School House is a traditional, detached, stone-built cottage located on Mill Lane, a quiet cul-de-sac, which leaves the west side of the village, facing down towards the picturesque beauty spot of Mill Gill.
A pretty cottage, tastefully modernised with multi-fuel stove in the lounge for cosy evenings. A small entrance hallway leads to the lounge, kitchen and a stone flagged staircase. Through the kitchen is an under stair utility store which in turn leads to the rear of the cottage.
A stone-flagged patio garden gives ample space for outdoor eating and relaxation. Off the patio is a fuel store plus separate bicycle store and the side entrance to Mill Lane.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two singles. Each have built in wardrobes. The bathroom has a combined shower-bath suite with toilet and washbasin.
School House offers high quality accommodation in a tranquil setting with nearby pubs, restaurants, deli, convenience store and church in this popular and historic village.

7th stay at school house, lovely cottage very comfortable. Everything you need is there.
Ample space for parking, enjoyed watching the visiting birds on the feeder. lovely village with friendly locals. Visited local christmas craft fairs big and small and was made welcome at them all. We will return for our 8th visit I'm sure of it.
Lovely welcoming treat of yorkshire cake and cheese. Nice touch .
Only thing I would maybe change is a bigger mat
at front door / bottom of the stairs.

Facilities not all as described or photographed. No warning stone steps on staircase were each very high so difficult if you have bad knees ! Bedrooms tiny, could only get round beds shuffling sideways. Lamps and chairs missing. Extensive thick black mould in kitchen, cooker hood rusty and held together by gaffer tape.Recycling overflowing on arrival and was not put out for collection as promised in handbook. No instructions for washer. Beware is not smart TV and you can only get a few Freeview channels. Hot water dangerous as in seconds gets hot enough to brew tea! Bathroom tap reverse plumbed so the cold side is actually hot. Very good to clean your teeth ! We stuck it out for half of booking then came home.
