The cottage is so cute and quirky!Very clean! It is so very central in Hawes; excellent location. Wonderful Chippie across the street; market outside the door on Tuesday, Wensleydale Cheese outlet/giftshop/factory a few steps away. The entire village is within walking distance and a delightful, nostalgic break from the workaday world. That doesnt mean its sleepy; its a vibrant, bustling village!Perhaps a bit more emphasis on the quirkiness of the cottage would be helpful. The stairway system, while extremely charming, could be quite a hindrance to anyone to has even the slightest mobility issue(s). They are winder-style steps and can be tricky. As well, the bathroom is at the top of the first flight, lounge is two steps up from there; master bedroom is another short flight with the 2nd bedroom up another flight. Although we found this rather fun, to get up to the bathroom in the night was a challenge from the top floor. We left the hall light on.The beds werent the most comfortable. Springs poking in the master bed and the twin beds were quite unforgiving. Ok maybe for kids, but quite uncomfortable for adults. Another suggestion would be a larger saucepan or two. We tried to make porridge and the pot was small and very light-weight with the nonstick worn off. Overall, would highly recommend this sweet cottage for holidays!We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hawes. Million dollar views all around! From the master bedroom in particular!

States parking, doesnt say you have to be lucky to get a spot after constant watching/waiting for one as its a town with shops so lots of locals as well as visitors wanting a spot ! Having to do this put us off going anywhere by car after the first 2 days! Once we got a space it stayed there till end of our trip. Next booking i make will have its own parking space.

Lovely, unusual and quaint cottage in a beautiful area. Well equipped with everything we needed. Comfortable beds. Loved the stairs and rooms on different levels but might be difficult for some. Shops, cafes and pubs right outside the front door. Great stay in a lovely area.

A lovely cottage in the heart of Hawes. Easy access to attractions in Hawes, and fabulous walking in the area. Cottage is on 3 levels so there are some stairs, can be busy outside with bikers at weekends. Good access to shops, pubs and chip shop! We would definitely visit again.

Nice little Cottage, well equipped for our needs during our weekend stay. The washing machine came in handy! Great location, Hawes is a lovely little market town. In my view, I feel that the cottage could benefit from a lick of paint here and there, and a deep clean in areas, especially skirting boards and tops of picture frames where fluff and dust gather. We really did enjoy our stay in this beautiful part of the country ❤️

If you’re searching for a property in the Yorkshire Dales area, don’t look any further. This is, by far, the cheapest and best located property that we found after 3 days of searching. A little bonus is that Hawes is the town where Wallace & Grommit was set. The check in process was convenient, the house was spotlessly clean and the beds were so comfortable. The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. We lost our dog while we were there and the owner did everything she could to help us find it. I would absolutely recommend this property.

Very comfortable well positioned property. Very steep stairs might be difficult for some people but we were fine. Parking tricky when we arrived as a busy Saturday and we had to go into pay and display car park a little way away until space became avalable, but no problem during the week.

you have a beautiful wee cottage in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. But to have to climb so many stairs so many times becomes a wee bit soul destroying, especially when we are both over pensionable age. One reason for my booking was because you were prepared to accommodate my dogs, and while I appreciate it's not your fault, I need a better facility for my dogs. My dogs are very important to me, and I just found it totally unsuitable for them. Never mind, we did very well, and many thanks. Regards, Michael

This was my third time at cattlemarket cottage. Improvements have been made including new boiler and hive installed since my last visit. A remarkable location, so close to all amenities in the village. Great value for money. Will be back at some point!

The home is right in the center of Hawes - a delightful village to visit. Across the street or just a few steps away are pubs, cafes, breakfast nooks and fish and chip. Couldn't ask for a better location in town - in a very sweet and comfy house.

Deceptively roomy yet quirky property in the centre of Hawes, instructions were clear to obtain keys, however we looked for a brown door and it's now white, other than that it's perfectly situated for nearby walks, pubs etc. If arriving after 6.30 be aware all shops are closed so take some essential food items if needed, although the chippy is open until 8.30pm. Lots of nearby walks not too strenuous. Overall a great place to stay.
