If you’re dreaming of boating or fishing the Gulf of Mexico, here’s the house for you. Located in the Shell Harbor neighborhood near the causeway entrance to Sanibel Island, Recovery Room offers direct Gulf access , 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and is ideal for avid boaters.
Living Spaces:
Panoramic views of the waterways stretch across the living room, family room, kitchen, and lanai. The family room seats 6, with a Smart TV and water views. The fully-equipped kitchen features KitchenAid stainless steel appliances, a French door refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser, and Painted Lady granite countertops — all with a view of the pool and waterways. The laundry room sits just off the kitchen, with a stacked washer/dryer and access to the 2-car garage.
Bedrooms:
The primary bedroom has a King bed, en-suite bath with shower, a Smart TV, and lovely pool/waterway views.
The guest bedroom also has a King bed and Smart TV, with the guest bath and its walk-in shower just across the hall — which also has access to the screened lanai and pool deck.
Outdoor Living:
The screened lanai offers long views of the Shell Harbor canals, with a Bbq grill for outdoor cooking. The pool has both solar and electric heat, comfortable for year-round swimming. The boat dock is perfect for fishing, with water and electric available dockside, plus a complimentary Shell Harbor beach parking permit.
Stay Connected & Have Fun:
Complimentary Starlink satellite internet keeps you connected throughout your stay. Clear, dark skies make for great stargazing from the front yard, or stroll to the nearby Sanibel Marina to watch SpaceX rocket launches year-round.

How do I keep mosquitoes and no-see-ums away during my beach vacation? The best defense is an insect repellent with Picaridin, paired with light, long-sleeve coverage when you're not in the water. Loose, breathable long sleeves and pants block bites well, but that's not always practical at the beach, pool, or swimming in the Gulf — so a good Picaridin-based repellent is your go-to.
Guest favorites include Skin So Soft Bug Guard Plus Picaridin Aerosol Spray and Bug Guard Wipes/Lotion (available on Avon. com), and Sawyer Picaridin Lotion (available on Amazon). Picaridin is effective against both mosquitoes and no-see-ums, doesn't feel greasy like Deet, and won't damage swimsuits or patio furniture. Apply before heading outside in the early morning or evening, when both pests are most active.

This house was exactly what we expected. The location on the canal was perfect, with frequent signing of manatee and dolphins right in front of the home. We were able to ride our bikes to the shell harbour's beach on the ocean as well as the lighthouse beach. The island is very bike friendly, with a dedicated bike/walking path along the main road. While we were there we rented a boat and kept it docked in front of the house which was very convenient.
We stayed in the home for a month and I was worried about sleeping in another bed for that long. No need to worry, both the king size beds were very comfortable. The trundle bed and the extra twin in the den however was not very comfortable. We only used this for 2 nights, I think we would have preferred a blow up in the den.
The kitchen had everything we needed for all the meals we prepared and the grill outside was used frequently. The appliances were a little dated but functional. I loved being able to eat dinner outside in the screened in porch while watching for animals and boats going by. We had waterfront dining every night! Also having a private pool was great for playing with the grandkids.
Sharon at Cottages to Castles was very responsive during our stay. She kept us updated on deliveries, as new furniture was delivered.
Overall we were delighted with this home and would definitely stay here again
