House inserted in property of 2 Ha. It has 2 bedrooms, living room, kitchen (fully equipped) and bathroom.
The property comprises the main house (where the host lives), 2 swimming pools (one with flowing spring water at one end of the farm with magnificent view), wine cellar, grove, vineyard, orchard and vegetable garden.
Ideal place for those looking to relax in a rustic, calm and natural environment and want to forget the hustle and bustle of the city
On the farm you can:
-walk in the woods and among vineyards, chestnut and eucalyptus trees;
- rest in the various hammocks in pleasant and restful places and in the shade of leafy trees where you can enjoy a book or simply doze off;
-picnicking in the woods, in the garden, by the pool or in the cool cellar
Enjoy the quality of life, have the privilege of being able to use the swimming pools at any time, see magnificent sunsets over the mountains enjoying a fresh bath, wake up to the birds chirping, smell the tilies, honeysuckle and Jasmine and be rocked by the sound of crickets and cicadas at dusk;
- enjoy rest and privacy but may participate in the activities of the farm if you wishand enjoy nature.
The host lives on the farm in an independent house but is available to assist when necessary. The privacy of the guests is respected. In the property there are two very calm and friendly female dogs.

Carmen has a beautiful property and was a lovely and helpful host. She was there to help with any issues we had.The pool and grounds are amazing and we were rather sad to leave.Tia the dog is a cutie too!

Quinta de Vilar is what its title suggests: a former vineyard. What makes this property such a gem is: the glorious mature garden, surrounded by the extensive grounds of the former vineyard; the fabulous 20m x 10m pool, with an additional, ice-cold, smaller pool, hidden in the woodland; two splendid dogs; and Carmen, the charming and helpful host.We spent a relaxing two weeks here, during the June 2025 heatwave, keeping cool in the pools, which are for guests sole use, and the air conditioned house.Qunita de Vilar is ideally located, 30 minutes’ drive from Porto Airport. There are nearby train stations, with free parking, for trains into the centre of Porto, where driving is to be avoided. There is also easy access to the wonderful Douro valley, with its myriad wine and port producers.Not to be missed is Casa Da Viuva wine bar and restaurant, which is 5 minutes’ drive: they have a fantastic selection of quality wines and food, with friendly and welcoming staff.Carmen was the perfect host, leaving us to do our own thing, but always available to help, if needed.Everything was immaculate clean and well looked after.Thank you very much

Beautiful place in the middle of nowhere, you need a car and knowledge of Portugese as locally taxi drivers dont speak a word of English. The bar and supermarket are with walking distance very cheap but basic.
