Villa Marguerite à Arès, Près du Bassin D'arcachon et de L'ocean

We had an enjoyable stay and host was accomodating when we asked for the pool to be heated although it was not clear it wasn't heated all year round. House was clean and bathrooms are absolutely beautiful. All in all our second trip to Bordeaux and it was thoroughly enjoyable!

Lovely garden area…,house is nice although a bit tired in bits and as others say could be a privacy issue with walking through a bedroom to get to master…my grown up son slept in this room and had to creep by him in morning so not to wake him. Also another bedroom is in a garden room/garage which may not work for all families as is outside main house and guests have to come into main house for toilet. The kitchen was well equipped and the outdoor barbecue area was a nice bonus. We had a lovely stay there and was a great location to cycle and explore the area.

We had a lovely time as a family of three adults and four kids. The house is lovely, nice pool and outside seating, excellent amenities and Valerie (the owner) and Wara who helped us settle in could not have been nicer - both lovely people. Ares is a nice little town, great restaurants and everyone was really friendly. We would definitely stay there again Kieran & Maeve

Great location, outdoor facilities and garden which we enjoyed. The pool is not alarmed, have a cover or fenced so care needed for children and animals. No mention in the description that you have to walk through one bedroom to access another or that the fourth bedroom is in a separate building and you have to walk outside to access the bathroom. There are also some changes in level in the property which are not obvious immediately - into kitchen and to the en suite bedroom. Unfortunately we had a number of minor issues the main ones being a broken aircon unit which poured water when on and took 2 days to isolate so we had no aircon in the lounge for those days and the pool turned green due to lack of testing so no pool for two days. These were sorted but no apology or recompense was forthcoming from the owner. Inside the property it only has seating for 6 at the dining table and 4 on the sofas although there is plenty of outdoor furniture. Outdoor seat pads and umbrella need replacing as were very tired and ripped in places. Wara was good at responding but it took time to get things sorted.
