We loved our visit of 5 days, perfect for a 3 gen family group.
Biggest pluses: the swimming pool, good sized rooms, airiness, well maintained garden, position for making visits to CapeTown and surrounds (- Constantia is well placed), Athol's help and attention, good wi-fi. One room is almost a self contained flat (which was useful)
One or two points to make: It is not exclusive. There are other lets on the same site (unimportant to us)
The kitchen is too well stocked! It could do with losing some clutter..
...But we had a great time. Getting to wineries is a 5 minute drive, Constantia is genteel ...we could have made much more of the house if we hadn't been so occupied with activities here and there.

In Cape Town for a friend’s wedding - which turned into a holiday! A group of 9, this beautiful villa in Constantia was absolutely perfect for our stay. Constantia is a beautiful suburb, within easy reach of all areas of Cape Town, and feels safe and secure. We made the most of the trails up to Table Mountain which are all around the villa, and Athol gave us some great local recommendations - Hout Bay market on a Friday evening, Long Street bars including The Beer House. We’d also highly recommend Chef’s Warehouse (book months in advance!) which is 10 minutes from the house. Beautiful villa, wonderful hosts, and a perfect location - we will definitely be returning!

We had a great stay at LeBonheur over Christmas and New Year.
Our daughter was married at Steenberg and both sides of the family shared the main house.
It was great to have the maid service particularly on the day of the wedding with 6 shirts to iron!
We had booked the house a full three years in advance and Athol and Tamara had done everything possible to help us source suppliers and generally put our minds at ease.
At the last minute some friends had issues with their booked accommodation in Hout Bay and Athol and Tamara pulled out all the stops to assist and let them move into Lemon cottage at very short notice.
The house itself is in a stunning setting, the views from the top terrace are very special indeed. Although the pool and hot tub are shared with the other cottages, this was not an issue for us. There are eight padded sun loungers and plenty of other lounging chairs.
The grounds are perfect for a family BBQ (Braai!) and the prices of meat etc in the supermarket are very reasonable.
Jacko the parrot provided plenty of entertainment to us all and Tamara’s dog Stretch also visited to play around the pool.
We found the location to be very convenient, although you do need to drive to get anywhere, there are plentiful restaurants and a shopping centre within 10 minutes. The Waterfront, Hout Bay and Newlands are all an easy 20-25 minute drive. Then of course it is in the middle of the Constantia wine route – it would be rude not to.

Athol and Tammy accommodated me at very short notice and in the middle of winter when they weren't really open - their hospitality and helpfulness was greatly appreciated. I had a wonderfully nurturing two days there - amidst rainstorms - but was kept warm and snug in a lovely comfortable cottage that contained everything I needed. Thank you both again for a great time and your warm welcome. I can highly recommend this lovely abode!
