Positives:The host created an amazing atmosphere — the cabin was beautifully decorated for fall and had romantic lighting both inside and out.The location was wonderfully secluded, offering a real sense of privacy and peace.Communication with the host was excellent. They were quick to respond to my questions and made everything easy.The house and hot tub were clean, and the outdoor area was well-maintained. I appreciated that firewood was ready to use and that there was an extra propane tank in case the grill ran out.The fire pit was perfectly placed — close enough to the cabin for convenience but far enough to avoid smoke drifting inside.The welcome book was a thoughtful touch, sharing the story behind the cabin and offering great local recommendations.Things to be aware of:The bedroom is on the second floor and the only bathroom is downstairs, accessible by a spiral staircase. If you tend to get up during the night, it can be a bit inconvenient.A nearby neighbor has a dog that barked on several nights. A sound machine would be helpful if you’re a light sleeper.The bed could use an upgrade — it’s quite uncomfortable and would benefit from a sturdier mattress and box spring.Overall:This is a great spot for a quiet getaway. We loved using all the outdoor amenities — the grill, hot tub, fire pit, and porch — and really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.

The cabin was decorated in a beautiful fall theme that was fitting for the season. Very clean and cozy. The deck included a clean nice hot tub, blackstone and a gas grill. There was also a fire ring with chairs to enjoy. We recommend staying here for a romantic getaway.

What a lovely place! Great hosts, too. Secluded… we didn’t see another person for 2 days straight. Lots of really great hospitality touches along the way, from snacks to firewood to a welcoming sign board customized to our trip. Here are some helpful things to know when booking (because I looked at a ton of reviews to figure out the info):1. There is a gas grill and a table top black stone outside. Kitchenette has a freezer/fridge and a microwave. No oven or stove. Plan accordingly.2. Kuerig coffee maker w/ pods - wonderful!3. Bedroom access is via a spiral staircase in an open-ish loft. It does have a walk out entrance to the upper portion, but bathroom and all the other areas are in lower portion, so if you have mobility issues, this isn’t the place for you.4. Hot tub has a fantastic view of the stars and the outdoor lighting features are simply amazing. A lot of thought went into developing a magical nighttime experience.5. Fire ring is on the lowest level, last set of steps down. It’s a cozy area away from the house a bit, but still close enough where you can be engaged with whoever is on the deck.6. The bed is super soft7. The WiFi is rock solid. You’ll need it if you have T-Mobile… no cell service.8. Once you are in the house and in the back deck area (where you’ll spend the majority of your time), the hosts home disappears and you have privacy.9. The hosts were very attentive via text. I highly recommend you stay here!

We loved this property! It is beautiful inside and out, quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the deck and hot tub, the sky lights in the loft bedroom, the sound of the water trickling down the hill into the pool below, the crickets, the crackling fire in the fire ring, eating meals out on the deck after grilling, all the lights that come on, inside and out after dark, the light show in the trees, and I could go on. Even snacks were provided! There were two TVs, but we didn't need them. There were also games to play and books to read. We loved being " unplugged" and enjoying nature and each other's company. The host was very attentive and accommodating. I highly recommend!!

My wife and I always look for new experiences away from the hustle of the city. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The hot tub made for a relaxing plunge after a day of hiking and being out in nature. The water features gave the sounds of a running brook near by. All in all a great place to unplug and recharge. Definitely will rebook if our travels take us back to that area of Ohio

Everything was great host was friendly they have a few friendly pups on the property. The hot tub and deck were nice the inside of the cabin was beautiful. The driveway was a little rough going but I drive a tiny 4 cylinder hatchback so most vehicles would be fine. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone looking to escape for awhile!

The cabin was beautiful. Many special touches, softest towels ever, gorgeous lighting. Perfect get away until we lost internet early in the morning on the 2nd day of 3 day stay. We booked the cabin in the middle of nowhere to get away and relax, listen to music, watch tv and enjoy the hot tub. Unfortunately the internet never came back and although Shelley contacted Spectum, they were unable to come fix it. We ended up leaving, cutting short our stay because there was litterly nothing to do. So disappointed, since AC and wifi were important amenties needed when we were looking for our 4th of July vacation. We were never offered any kind of refund/compensation. will never return.

Really cool little cabin that was far away from it all. Keep in mind, you have to travel a good half hour for a store run. So if you aren’t used to that, have it with you. Wonderful to sit on the porch and watch the birds and hear them sign their beautiful songs. Peaceful

This place is absolutely magical. This was our second trip - first one was our 1-year dating anniversary - we are now engaged and went for a romantic weekend away. My wife and I wanted a short getaway vacation, and this cabin fit the bill nicely. Close to some nice hiking and a 30-minute drive to historic Roscoe village. We also enjoyed lounging in the hot tub and around the fire pit. It’s worth noting that some of the nearby restaurants and wineries are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, which limited options. The cabin was pristine and cozy, and communication and check in/check out were very smooth.

One of the best places to travel to if you want to spend time in the company of your partner. Truly meant for two people. Leisure activites are encouraged but dont be afraid to take a walk! Sight seeing will be a bit more difficult of you like to travel as everything is about 40 minutes mininum.

This was our second year staying here for anniversary and we loved it so much all over again. The cabin was super clean, decorated for fall in the cutest way. You can tell they take pride in their cabin and the experience they want you to have. Down to every detail, it was one of the nicest stays we have ever had in a cabin. Bed was comfortable, hot tub was perfect and the beautiful Mums next to the hot tub, the blackstone was perfect for cooking, kurig coffee in the morning, beautiful deer all around, water feature and lights at night, awesome bluetooth speakers, and it felt very private. They even had a sign welcoming us for anniversary. It has just an overall calm and relaxing feel. We hope to be back next year for our next anniversary. Side Note- If you are tall like my husband, 6ft 4 in., watch your head around the cool spiral staircase. Thank you for making it such a special place and sharing it with others.

The Hideway Cabin is more beautiful in person, from the decor to the beautiful lighting at night. The cozy and inviting atmosphere was just what we need to relax and reconnect. I would absolutely recommend this place and will be back for another stay. Thanks again for having us.

From the moment we arrived just at dusk, the cabin was illuminated with atmospheric lights and the sound of bubbling streams. Everything was just as described, comfortable, and welcoming. A great place to shut off for a few days. Just one word of caution for those with mobility issues or a fear of heights, there is a narrow spiral staircase to access the upper bedroom that is a bit precarious. You can always access it from outside by walking around the property, but this is a little spooky to do when it's dark and there are lots of summer bugs. We had watched a family movie in the upstairs bedroom and one of my sons was not able to use the staircase and so we had walk around outside to get him down to the bathroom. Just a word of caution if this might be your situation too!

We really enjoyed our visit to this secluded little getaway. The area is quiet and scenic, and we definitely felt more relaxed and connected after staying there. While there was no stovetop in the kitchen, we were able to use the outdoor range and the microwave for our cooking needs. (We also found a small electric range in a cabinet after we had used the outdoor range.) The hot tub and porch seating were clean and inviting. The owners have put a lot of attention into the details of making it a lovely, welcoming space. Note: The narrow spiral staircase from the living space to the loft bedroom wasn't a problem for us but could be prohibitive for anyone with mobility issues. There are external doors to the upstairs (bedroom) as well as to the downstairs.
