About this house rental
No better viewing spot of Lake Michigan and the Lighthouse than from the deck of this home across from the Grand Haven State Park Beach! The beach is only 250 ft away. The perfect place for friends and family to gather, relax, and make memories.

INSIDE
This lower level apartment features 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a spacious kitchen, and a comfortable living room and dining area. Enjoy the expansive view of Lake Michigan through the two sliding glass doors off of the living room. All located on one floor, there is a guest bedroom with a queen bed and an additional guest room with a full bed and two twin beds. These bedrooms share a full bath.
Have a larger party but still want to enjoy those incredible views? We have a solution! This three-story home called "Happe House Apt A," features an apartment that rents separately from the house. The upper level features five bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen, large living & dining space with a large deck overlooking Lake Michigan. If available, the home and apartment can be rented together for additional living space for larger groups.
OUTSIDE
The private, expansive deck is a great spot to relax and take in the gorgeous Lake Michigan sunsets. There is patio furniture and a gas grill available for your use. Parking is provided for two vehicles right by the house.

THE LOCATION
Happe House perched in the dune across from the Grand Haven State Park and Beach. It's the first house on the hill, so nothing is blocking your view. Walk across the street and you're at the beach, or head down the boardwalk along the channel to check out the downtown area. Downtown Grand Haven is only 1 mile away and features a variety of great restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, breweries and a new social district.
If you're looking for a family-friendly location, this is it. All of these opportunities are available around the area: charter fishing, trolley rides, splash pad, playgrounds, nightly musical fountain, worship on the waterfront, art fairs, parades, festivals, the list could go on and on.
CANCELLATION POLICY
- Cancel within 48 hours of making your reservation at no charge.
- Cancel 30 days or more in advance, and receive a full refund.
- Cancel 14 days in advance, and receive a 50% refund.
- No refunds for cancellations less than 14 days in advance of reservation start date.
There are no refunds for early departures, reduction of nights rented, or delayed arrivals due to inclement weather or any other factor. Please consider trip insurance to protect your investment.

This property is locally managed by BVW Unsalted Vacations Property Management in Holland, MI. We provide a starter kit of paper products, toiletries, hospitality-grade linens and much more.

We loved the location right across the street from Grand Haven State Park. The beach there is amazing. The beds were very creaky/noisy and not very comfortable. Every time you moved it was really loud.Overall we had a great stay! It was really clean, everything worked, the air conditioning was awesome. We cook a lot and the kitchen had everything we needed.That being said....there were not a lot of "extras" that we have found with other VRBO's. we had to bring a lot of stuff. I.e. Saran wrap, paper plates, napkins, coffee filters, sand toys, and beach chairs. They owner did communicate this to us, so that was good. Communication was excellent. It was just a bummer that we had to bring so many things.You should also note, there weren't any family games provided. We love playing games on vacation and typically there are games to play in the VRBO's we've rented in the past. We ended up buying games at MACKite a great game store downtown Grand Haven. If you have kids, you'll definitely want to stop there!

The house was right across from the state park. The house was clean. The kitchen was decently stocked with kitchen utensils, etc. The bed in what I will call the master bedroom seemed to fold into the middle when there was two people in it. It was also very noisy when you would move in the middle of the night. There were two beds in the 2nd bedroom that were almost like sleeping on a piece of plywood. I was also disappointed that I had to take out the garbage on Wednesday night. For what I paid to stay here, I should’ve have to do chores that I do at home. The cleaning crew should have done this. Check in process was simple. At times it felt like communications from property management company was too much. I think I got an email or text almost every day I was there. That wasn’t needed. Just let me enjoy my trip.

The cottage was in an exceptional location. It was just as described. The front porch is all you need to relax. It was extremely hot during our stay, but the Happe House Apt B was nice and cool. If you rent Apt B, know you will hear the people above you walking around. If you are a light sleeper or that type of noise bothers you, rent the Apt A. The fire alarm woke us up two mornings, going off for no apparent reason. This was not the fault of the owners and I am sure the rental
Company will take care of it. Parking is clearly marked. If you are tall (6’3” or taller) you will have to duck in several spots as the ceiling work is low. Overall it was an amazing place to stay and we enjoyed sharing this clean, comfortable, and beautiful place.
