About this villa rental
Beautiful private villa situated only 6 km away from the lovely medieval town of Gubbio, in Umbria. This property has been recently restored and turned into a comfortable house offering large interior areas and a beautiful, bright and panoramic living-room. A nice, well-kept garden and a private swimming-pool are available. The garden also offers a small building with a well-stocked kitchen, oven and barbecue.
The location is ideal to visit the most beautiful towns in Umbria like Assisi, Gubbio, Perugia, Spoleto and Urbino.
The access to the property is via an unpaved but well-maintained road.
Distances: Gubbio with all kinds of shops 6 km away, the charming town of Assisi 36 km, Urbino 35 km, Perugia 40 km away, Fano (on the Adriatic sea) 60 km, Spoleto 60 km away, Lake Trasimeno approx. 60 km, Grotte di Frasassi 45 km, San Marino 120 km away.
At guests’ disposal: large garden with private irregular-shaped swimming-pool (16 x 15 m – maximum depth 4 m), small building in the garden with kitchen, oven and barbecue, large outside areas furnished with tables and chairs for “al-fresco” dining. Parking within the grounds.
Extra services: Extra bed upon request at € 15,- / per day (payment on site). Baby bed available at € 5,- / per day payable on the spot. Maid service by arrangement € 10,- / per hour (to be paid locally). Lunch and dinner services are available upon request. Underfloor cooling system
The produce of the estate (olive oil, wine, honey, fruits, vegetables and meat) are available for clients to be purchased.
Fishing facilities upon request in a private lake within the grounds.
A small pet is welcome upon request (to be requested at reservation).

The following might be to be paid extra: Air conditioning, Babycot, Extra Bed, Final Cleaning, Heating, Refundable Security Deposit in cash, Tourist tax.

We were able to check off a bucket list item at one of the most beautiful villas in Umbria! As frequent travelers to Italy, we have wanted to take our kids and grandkids to see the special places we love in this country. The location of Villa Contessa is perfect for day trips or for sitting and relaxing in nature. The villa itself is spectacular!. The owners have created a wonderland wherein a family can cook and eat together on an amazing vista deck, swim in the huge and nature surrounded poole, collect fresh eggs for breakfast and just "be". Gubbio is a historic "citta" for discovering a rich Gubbian culture and to enjoy local specialities. We enjoyed our daily cappuccino's and evening sritzes often followed by artegional gelato.The Villa itsel has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, two kitchens and dining areas. The kitchens are completely stocked with anything and everything a cook will need for meal preparation and there is an outdoor room and patio area for those who like to grill. The bedrooms are well appointed and everyone in the family felt they slept well and long, sometimes too long when planning for a day trip! The bathrooms are each lovely and either have a shower or a tub. The property itself is a paradise in the hills, but still only 5 minutes away from town. There were also some new kittens to entertain us. What an absolutely lovely 3 weeks we experienced. We want to thank Oliver and his wife and Carlo for the kindness, assistance and guidance they provided! This is a wonderful family who totally made us feel at home and welcomed! Every need or question was taken care of. Carlo even helped us find a chef who would cook osso bucco for our son-in-law!
We more than highly recommend this property and this experience-a truly exceptional way to check off our bucket list.

We had an unforgettable stay at this beautiful villa! The views from the property are absolutely stunning, and the peaceful surroundings made it the perfect place to unwind and relax. The highlight for our family was definitely the amazing pool—spacious, clean, and ideal for both kids and adults to enjoy the summer sunshine. It truly made the place complete! Our host was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel right at home. It was clear they genuinely cared about making our experience a great one. Another lovely surprise was the wide variety of board games available at the villa, which kept the kids entertained for hours and gave us some fun family time indoors as well. Highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly escape in the heart of Umbria. We hope to return soon!

Wonderful location, wonderful villa and wonderful host! Everything you could ever need or want is present. Fenomenale! In the middle of nature. Unfortunately the road is partly blocked so shopping in Gubbio takes some time. But that is temporary. Olivier, the host, is a wonderful joyful man, he gave us a warm welcome. So very generous, we could take tomatoes and other vegetables from his garden, eggs from the chickens etc. From now on he will wear braces at Sundays as a gentleman ???
