This vacation home is a 3-story walk-up without elevator access. On the ground floor, there is a garage and patio balcony. The second floor is home to the kitchen and dining room, plus a balcony. The 3rd floor has the primary bedroom suite and private bayfront balcony.

The gated community is a mere two blocks from the beautiful South Padre Island beach. Parking is easily accessible and Tortuga Bay also has some great outdoor amenities. There is a beautiful, bayfront, gradual-entry pool with seating. Bonus: Tortuga Bay has outdoor restrooms by the pool for your convenience. Are you looking to do some fishing while on the island? A boat slip is assigned, and you'll have your own personal spot. There is also a fish cleaning station by the water for you and your fisher-family. If you're looking for some local dining, Tortuga Bay is also only 5 minutes away from Cap 'n Roy's, known for seafood and Mexican food fare.

Age Restrictions: The minimum age requirement for renters is 25. As per Homeowner Association Rules & Regulations, THIS CONDO DOES NOT ALLOW YOUNG ADULT/SPRING BREAK GROUPS.

This was a really nice vacation rental. It was clean and nicely furnished. The location on the bay provided a wonderful view. I wish I would have had some binoculars as it was a like a bird sanctuary. The pool and hot tub were clean. Only one of the two hot tubs seemed to be working. It did take a little bit for the hot tub to warm up - there is a notice by the switch that says that it will take about 30 minutes. We were there in mid-April and it was very quiet and peaceful. I take it this is not a busy time of year for SPI. We were also there during the week and not a weekend. We had the pool to ourselves. It was like a private resort. The check-in process was smooth and the staff were very friendly. There is a flight of steps to get to the main living area and another flight to the bedroom. The beds were super comfortable - it was like sleeping on a cloud. All in all it was a wonderful place to stay.

I only chose this property due to the boat slip. I was told I could not store boat trailer at property so I paid for a space down the street a few days before check in. Upon arrival at the property after having to go to the management office about two miles away, I learned that actually there is absolutely a place to park the boat trailer at the property so I paid for the offsite trailer parking spot for nothing. Also, we were given one remote to open the gate to the property which means we all had to leave and return together or if one of us did leave, some one at the property would have to walk out to the gate with the gate remote to open the gate. While the gate does have a place to enter a code to open the gate, I was informed the owner does not provide a code and only 1 opener.This was an inconvenience and restricted my family’s activities while on vacation. Also, while the property was advertised as being suitable for boats and a dedicated slip, the ditch from bay to slip was not suitable for driving a 15ft Boston Whaler thru this ditch. Next, while there is a public boat launch down the street, it is not maintained and it’s damaged. Be careful not to damage your trailer at that public launch. I instead hauled the boat to port Isabel to launch and returned to port Isabel to load boat back on trailer. This property is not suitable for boaters/fishermen. Next, the air conditioning was not good on the top floor. You will need your use fans in the bedroom.
