About this cabin rental
Access the lake right from our cottage. Water is clean and Wheeler Lake allows full recreational activities! So grab your fishing poles just remember, to have your fishing licenses handy. Our cabin has a beautiful outdoor firepit, as well as, indoor fireplace. Perfect for all seasons. Lakewood is the heart of direct access to ATV/UTV/Snowmobile trails and you can begin your journey just by firing up your machine and leaving our cottage driveway!
There are many many different restaurants and bars you can dine in or get take out. My personal favorite is Mulligan’s located right here in Lakewood. The traditional wings are to die for!

The property is on Wheeler Lake, which is a great lake for fishing and watersports. There's a sandy public beach nearby that you can visit for $5 per person, and the boat launch is fairly close. Lakewood is five minutes away.
The cottage is older, but has been nicely remodeled with two newer bathrooms, a modern kitchen and numerous other updates. There's a nice deck with a table and six chairs overlooking the lake, so we spent most of our time outside. The dining table only sat four, but it is open to the living room.
There are two bedrooms, one with two twin beds and one with a queen bed, and a full bath on the main level. There's a full bath and a bedroom with a twin and queen bed in the basement.
The dock is short, but there is room to tie a boat. There's a small firepit area near the water. There are lots of water toys to use, as well as two kayaks.
Pros: location, lake
Cons: limited space, we felt a bit crowded with six adults
Tips: bring extra paper products and bring lawn chairs if you want to sit by the dock or firepit. Lakewood is just down the road if you forget anything.
This was my first experience with a Vrbo rental, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Overall it met our needs.

The hosts were very gracious and accommodating, the cottage was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view, and a fully equipped kitchen, really enjoyed the fire pit and circular drive for guests that were visiting us during our stay. Nothing beats, drinking a cup of coffee in the morning and seeing that beautiful sunrise over the lake!❤️😊

Check in time was at four, I arrived at the property after five and the owner was there until 7pm doing routine maintenance and mowing the weeds.The owner’s spouse was to get me information. She sent me the code for the door, but never followed up with additional information. I sent a message through the app and I also texted her phone directly and never heard a peep. Nobody checked on us, there were no checkout instructions, we didn’t know what to do with trash… The floors were really filthy when we arrived, and there were so many personal belongings all over the place we couldn’t put our food in the kitchen unless we set it all on top of the counter. The refrigerator was full on the door… We really didn’t have much space for six days of living. The master bedroom had no closet space and dressers were full/nightstands cluttered .For the first day and a half the camera in the living room kept turning on… That was a little bit uncomfortable. Couldn’t pull blinds down in the evening in that fourth bedroom because there were so many things on the windows and we didn’t know how to pull them down. There was also so many personal belongings in that room that we could barely open up the sofa bed and there was no bedding for it. Just one sheet we found in a drawer. Overall, we had a good time, but it was definitely not worth the price we paid .
