Cozy home minutes from the falls

This house is very conveniently located to Niagara Falls! We watched the fireworks every night from the master and attic bedrooms. Because it's so close to things it's kind of a busy area and was a little noisy at times and there is an open lot nextdoor that people walk through, coming right next to the house.The house is beautiful, we loved the bedrooms and all the windows and the architectural details were stunning. It's a very big home with lots of space for people. We weren't made aware that the property manager and their family lives in the basement until right before checking in, which wouldn't be a concern except the interior door between the main floor and the basement isn't very soundproof. We heard their baby crying at night (which made us concerned about every little sound we made) and we could smell their dinner very strongly.Communication with the hosts was alright. I had to contact them the day of check in to ask about door codes because they hadn't messaged me yet. At one point there was an issue we needed help with (one of the toilets had no water in the tank so it wouldn't flush), they had left phone numbers to contact them but when we tried to contact them that way they didn't answer. When I messaged them through VRBO it took all day to get a response. The issue then never got resolved because they sent someone over mid-day while we were out. Luckily there were 2 other bathrooms to use.Overall the house was amazing though and we enjoyed our stay.

Everything was great except for a couple of things. The kitchen had less crockery and cutlery than what is needed for 8 people. The dining table only had 4 chairs and there was only a 3 seater couch in the living room.The listing said for 8 people but we couldn't be together in one area. There was only access to 2 parking spots as the tenant in the basement occupied the 3rd spot. Fortunately the next door neighbour allowed us to park in his driveway for the weekend. The downstairs tenant was noisy - Loud TV/music throughout day and into late night. Very strong cooking smells - especially fish/burning which came into the rest of the house especially all the bedrooms.

Rooms and home in general were very clean, kitchen was pretty well equipped overall. It's a very nice and interesting home compared to most out there, and we enjoyed our stay. The beds are a bit firm but everything worked well and we enjoyed ourselves.

Keurig coffee maker not functioning. Basement family could be heard.
