About this apartment rental
The "Barn Loft" designed by owner/builder was recently completed for the 2023 fall season. Located adjacent to the owner's residence in town Southwest Harbor this property is off the street and surrounded by 5 acres of fields, trees, and views of Acadia's western mountains providing the perfect country escape feeling.
Second floor, completely furnished, spacious open concept living area with full kitchen, dining, 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths. Master bedroom with king bed and en suite, guest bedroom with 2 double beds.
Maximum occupancy for 6. Cable, WIFI, heat pump, and deck seating.
It should be noted that due to the second floor location, this property would not be suitable for anyone who cannot manage a lengthy staircase, or for small children as the staircase is open (no door, no gate).
The heat pump provides heat and air conditioning and is located in the open living area. Bedrooms do not have air conditioning units however, they do each have fans and thermal blinds.
Sorry no pets, and no smoking.
Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, marina, bus route, and minutes away from Acadia National Park, biking, hiking, swimming, fishing, and boating.

About the host - Wes is a 6th generation Southwest Harbor native whose passion is spending time outside. He and his wife Dawn decided to start their dream project, so, they began with building the barn in 2020. They are very excited to offer the "Barn Loft". The couple's love of the outdoors is the inspiration of their project. They want to provide a relaxing place for vacationers to escape and enjoy the beauty of the quiet side of the island and all that Acadia National Park has to offer.

Everything about the stay was great. The loft was clean, the rooms comfortable, and the kitchen had all the essentials for daily meals. The location was quiet but only a short walk to main street or down to the dock. We enjoyed the view and watching the wildlife from the deck. Overall a wonderful place!

This property was perfect for our weekend getaway to ANP. It was very clean and quiet. We especially enjoyed the fire pit on the deck in the cool evenings after long days of hiking. We’ll be back again!

The accomodations were very nice and comfortable. Although there was warning about the steps, they were quite steep, and a lot of them; not all older adults may be able to manage them with a suitcase. One person in the second bedroom felt it was initially hard to fall asleep due to people talking outside, but we had the windows open. The person in the master bedroom did not hear anything. Convenient, less than 5 minute drive, to restaurants. Twenty minutes to the busier part of Acadia. About 5 minutes to featurs on the "quiet" side of Acadia. Overall, we enjoyed the stay very much and would recommend!
