About this house rental
The Loon on the Lake is a very cute & charming park home that is located right on Little Platte Lake! It features 2 bedrooms, 5 beds, a living area, dining area, kitchen, and 1.5 bathrooms! Also has a great deck with outdoor furniture, a picnic table, and a fun outdoor kitchen! Plus a second private picnic table with a lakeview! Has great lake views throughout and includes use of the resort's kayaks and shared bonfire ring! Also includes Wi-Fi, A/C, heat, and live streaming television!
NEIGHBORHOOD:
The property is in a quiet neighborhood of lakefront homes and resorts, with Big Platte Lake on one side of the road and Little Platte Lake on the other side of the road. Boating, kayaking, and fishing are very popular on both lakes. Peterson Beach on Lake Michigan is also only 4.6 miles from the resort!
Outside of the immediate area, the property is close to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, Lake Michigan, Crystal Lake, Traverse City, and a lot of cute little beach towns in the area like Beulah, Frankfort, Empire, and Glen Arbor. There are all kinds of hiking trails in the area and outdoor activities of all kinds are very popular. The area truly provides for a great vacation getaway!
GUEST ACCESS:
Guests have access to all of the resort's amenities (including the kayaks), but there is no rowboat available for guests of The Loon.
TRANSIT:
It is recommended that guests have their own vehicle.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
(1) Includes new Deck, 2 picnic tables, BRAND NEW mattress (hybrid and memory foam), BRAND new pull out sofa and mattress, BRAND NEW Haier Refrigerator, BRAND NEW Carpet, and 2 NEW televisions!
(2) Guests are welcome to bring their own motors or rent one for use with the row boats. Crystal Lake Marina in Honor and Beulah rent boat motors. Motors should be 10 Horsepower or less and must be short shaft because Little Platte Lake is VERY shallow.
(3) Peterson Beach on Lake Michigan is only 4.6 miles from the resort!

We enjoyed our stay and it was set up well! Having direct access to the Little Platte Lake and ability to rent a boat to go fishing was an added bonus. We would definitely stay there again.

We spent the 4th of July weekend at the Loon and it was an amazing experience. The camper is big enough to accommodate four adults. The indoor and outdoor kitchen allowed us to cook from scratch for multiple meals. The kitchen comes with pretty much any tool that you can think of.
We spent a whole day at the lake kayaking and boating. Gus was very helpful and patient in teaching us how to use the boat motor. There were a pair of loons and a swan couple living in the lake with baby swans. The location is great and close enough to Frankfort so we visited the town and spent some time by the beach. Kelly, the host, was super courteous and responded to a call from us very timely, even though it was already pretty late at night.
