My goal was to visit Castles and see the countryside!We purposely selected this place for the fact it was kinda in the middle of Ireland, from where we would make day trips. It worked wonderfully! Our other purpose was to be away from Dublin and meet what I guessed would be the true Irish. Very Close by was a fantastic Pub, and restaurant. We stayed a week here. Safety was of no concern on this trip. The people were wonderful and the food fantastic. We visited 7 castles while here, and went to the cliffs of Moher. We saved an incredible amount of money doing this ourselves versus going on tour buses. Do be aware back roads can be extremely narrow. I surely brushed the rental car against hedgerows on occasion. Rent a small narrow car for this neck of the woods. A big SUV would have been very difficult to keep on your side of the road, on backroads . Our Host Margaret was wonderfully accommodating.

Margaret and Stephan were excellent hosts. Their en-suite was perfect. Very clean, well equipped and very quiet. The area is beautiful and Margaret was a great help with her knowledge of the sights, restaurants and all the area has to offer. I highly recommend them and their accommodations.
