If you love the sun, sea and nature without intense human intervention and want a quiet and relaxing vacation, you are in the ideal place. Our private space is located just 3 minutes away from the beautiful long beach of Xerokampos "Mazida Ammos" in a verdant surrounding area of 5500 m2 with a simple building, fully harmonized with the landscape. You will be fascinated by the wonderful view of the property, the intense alternations and the natural beauty of the landscape as well as the simplicity and comfort of the interior space.
The apartment is comfortable, functional and stylish. There is a dining area, a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom. It is equipped with appliances and utensils to meet the requirements of your stay. Its spacious private terrace has a table and outdoor chairs and offers great views of the garden and the sea.
You can make your walk in interesting or shady corners of our garden, enjoy your drink or coffee in the large dining room, in the spacious living room or at the bar, visit our citrus garden, admire the breeze, the sounds and the lighting of the fountains and enjoy the magic of our estate in the evening.
Just 300 meters away there is a mini market and in 2 km you will find the settlement with a lot of taverns with traditional Cretan cuisine. The region has many beautiful beaches for all tastes (with fine sand, pebbles or slates) and there is also the famous beach "Argilos" for the admirers of natural spa and the salt lake of Alatsolimni. You can also visit many interesting places of archaeological interest such as the "Ancient Ampelos", "Katsounaki", "Trachilas", or the posterior chapel of St. Nicholas dating from 1895.
It is helpful to have a means of transport because there are no bus stops or taxis available in the settlement. The area is ideal for hiking and cycling. On the way, you will see many special and enchanting landscapes. Besides swimming, the place is also suitable for other sea activities such as fishing, canoeing, and water sports.

Hermes apartment in Amatu Villas is a lovely spot for a couple seeking peace and quiet in a stunning part of Crete. The apartment's patio has lovely views over Mazida Ammos beach and has several other local beaches within from between 15 to 50 minutes walk - all lovely. The local tavernas are about 15-20 minutes walk away along very quiet roads. Although close to a road Amatu Villa feels very secluded.
The apartment was spotlessly clean and well furnished. The kitchenette was well equipped with a hob and oven suitable for producing simple meals for lunch or dinner. Clean linen was supplied regularly. The gardens are beautifully kept by Vivi and are a haven for bird life. We were also treated to home made cake!
Xerocambus is small and quiet - a place for those looking to rest, swim, walk, read and generally relax not those seeking nightlife. It is approached down a twisting mountain road with superb views. There are four tavernas and two small mini markets with more facilities about 20 minutes drive away in Zakros. Although the apartment had a tv we didn't switch it on all fortnight!
