Please note: There is a covered pond, 10 yards away. The property has a natural water supply from a spring.. Waxway Farm Cottages are nestled below the beautiful East Hill woodlands with panoramic views over the lush Devon countryside towards Exeter and Dartmoor. Although no longer a working farm, horses, dogs, cats and chickens may also greet you on your arrival. Fresh country produce is available from local farms, and freshly caught fish are available from harbour fishermen at Beer, Sidmouth and Lyme Regis. The cob and thatch construction of the main house, built in 1594, reminds us that this is open countryside, rural and tranquil yet within easy reach of towns and holiday activities with lots for children to do nearby. Uncluttered country lanes give opportunities for walking, cycling or riding with many stables nearby. Enjoy excellent walking along the adjoining East Devon Way, Otter Valley and South West Coastal Path. This is the land of Coleridge, Drake, Raleigh and many others who have had their influence on British history. Swallows Cottage (ref 30871) and Bats Cottage (30872) are less than four miles from the World Heritage Coast at Sidmouth, and the beaches at Exmouth, Branscombe and Beer lead to the world-renowned Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis and beyond. Less than an hour away are Dartmoor and Exmoor with their wide open spaces, spectacular views and countryside and opportunities for walking. Exeter, with its cathedral, shops and all amenities, is just a short drive away. Both properties have been decorated and furnished to a very good standard, and are decorated with a Christmas theme during the festive season. They also both have woodburners which are ideal for all year round holidays. Properties 30871 and 30872 can be booked together to accommodate up to 10 guests. Shop and restaurant 2 miles, pub 11/2 miles.
