Apartment with amazing frescoes and a wide sea view, a few steps away from the Temple of Apollo and the Traditional Market of Ortigia island.
Casa Darsena with Sea View Balcony is an amazing one-bedroom apartment with wide spaces and ceilings coming with frescoes of angels and cupids, on the first floor. Both the living room and the bedroom are decorated and characterized by pastel-colored furniture, which makes the house warm and welcoming. The living area is a bright open space with a living room and a new kitchen, as well as a wooden table. The balcony donates a unique view of the Darsena sea and the beauty of Ortigia as well, in addition, the sunlight enters and brings light to the decorative items in the living room, such as the designed chandelier and the small plants. The bedroom is very bright and large and comes with a double bed, two small tables with bajour and a carpet with glass and a small sofa. The flooring in the living room and in the bedroom is precious as well due to its decoration matching the ceilings. Finally, the bathroom for our guests is provided with a shower and all the comforts they may need.

For lovers of relaxation and the sea, eastern Sicily and the area surrounding Syracuse offer everything one could wish for. Starting from the ancient Greek city and heading south, the best-equipped and most beautiful beaches to explore are Minareto, Fanusa, Arenella, and Fontane Bianche, whose name derives from the natural freshwater springs and the particular white color of the sand. On the island of Ortigia, you will also find equipped solariums (Zefiro and Nettuno) and a small free beach called Cala Rossa. Further south, some 30 km away, we find some beautiful unspoiled and inaccessible beaches, including Calamosche, Vendicari with its Natural Fauna Oasis, and the beautiful San Lorenzo. For culture enthusiasts, the Greek theatre of Syracuse and the entire archaeological park with the Ear of Dionysius, a cave carved into the limestone in the shape of a human ear, the Paolo Orsi museum, and the Latomie dei Cappuccini, as well as Ortigia itself with its historical and cultural beauty as well as its landscape, are worth a visit. Not to be overlooked is Noto, the seafront with the tuna fishery of Avola, and finally the seaside village of Marzamemi. In short, Sicily is a land to explore and its natural and cultural beauties are treasures to fill your eyes with.
The airport of Catania Fontanarossa is about 60 km far away, while the “Comiso Pio la Torre” airport is 110 km far. The train station of Siracusa is 1 km away from Ortigia, as well as the inter bus station connected with the airports.

A large, spacious apartment in an excellent central location. The bathroom is in need of an update, the fuse trips quite often and the kitchen is sparsely equipped (if there are more than two people staying) however, the very beautiful frescos and location make it a recommended stay.

Casa Darsena is located right in the heart of Ortigia next to the bridges that lead to the mainland. It's a 2 minute walk to the market and is accessible to all cafes and restaurants.
Simone, who checked us in gave us great advice and probided a thorough and complete orientation to the apartment and local attractions.
The management team was very quick to respond to questions and concerns, for which we were very grateful.
The apartment is very spacious and is equipped with laundry, stove (no oven) and other basic supplies. The beds were comfortable and lots of great natural light. Perfect for remote work.

Spacious place. Fantastic location with a lot of natural light. Receptive property manager. If you intend to take advantage of the food market (literally steps away), and cook some meals, there are cooking supplies available, but you might find it limiting if you wish to cook multiple dishes.
The place was tidy but lacked a thorough cleaning. There was a strong smell of sewage every night. Fortunately, the odour could not be sensed in the bedrooms and kitchen. The property manager was responsive and attempted to remedy the situation.
It was a safe and comfortable place to stay.
