Splendid residence from 1760 restored for unforgettable holidays in Alghero for up to 20 guests.
Casal Paternò in Alghero is a late 19th-century historic residence, formerly the Chiesa della Purissima, located in the Angeli Custodi region, a scenic area on the hills of the Coral Riviera not far from the town centre and the beach.
The villa can host various types of events such as weddings, gala ceremonies, impressive refreshments, business lunches or simply a prestigious holiday.
Villa Casal Paternò consists of 8 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms, air conditioning and WiFi Internet connection throughout. The Historical House is rented out for exclusive use.
The Villa, owned by the Paternò family and recently renovated in traditional style, boasts the distinction of being one of the best renovated and preserved period residences on the coast.
The villa consists of a central body, the former convent, divided into two floors with an internal belvedere balustrade and an annex.
In the main part of the villa there are 5 double bedrooms with air conditioning and en-suite bathroom with shower and in the upper part of the villa there is a double bedroom with access to the veranda overlooking Capo Caccia.
In the adjoining annexe there is an open plan room with kitchen, living room with double bed and on the upper floor a room with 2 single beds and second flat with another 4 beds bathroom and kitchen
The rooms on the upper floor are all air-conditioned, while the rooms on the lower floor, as the former church walls are over a metre high, do not require air conditioning as they maintain an ideal temperature.
In the park of the villa, which is well-kept with a lawn and swimming pool, there is a large gazebo and an additional outdoor kitchen where you can eat outdoors covered by the gazebo and cook and roast all together
The property is located about 3 kilometres from Alghero on the road leading to the village of Olmedo, just outside Alghero. A distance that even in high summer can be covered in about ten minutes at most.
Facilities:
Washing machine, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, dishwasher, WiFi, Air Conditioning, Bed linen and towels, Barbecue, swimming pool, sun loungers and outdoor furniture.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT MORE GUESTS THAN THE NUMBER COMMUNICATED.
Villa Casal Paternò can accommodate up to 20 people. The rent will be based on the number of persons indicated at the time of booking and €50 per day will be charged for each undeclared guest.
- In July and August arrivals are preferably accepted on Saturdays. For other dates please contact the Host.
A car is necessary for exploring the coastline and beaches. The car is necessary for excursions to discover Sardinia.
Extras: (on request)
- Beach towels at an extra charge of €10 per person.
- Extra cleaning during the stay on reservation and payment (€15 per hour)
Host or maintenance person is allowed to enter for maintenance of facilities.
To be paid on arrival in cash tourist tax.

We stayed for a week in June 2026. The house was very suitable for a group of 16. The outdoor kitchen meant the house was really well suited for outdoor dining but there are two kitchens indoors if you need them (the photos don’t make it that clear) The grounds and pool were very well kept and the location was just a few minutes drive from the beach. Would definitely recommend this villa for a large group.

My family's stay in Casal Paterno was absolutely great. Giovanni was extremely helpful and responsive with check-in and small maintenance issues that arose from our stay.
Mercedes (owner) was extremely responsive in communication before our trip, and helpful with organizing logistics of our arrival.
Our stay in Alghero was during one of the hottest weeks of the year, and the pool was extremely refreshing. The house was plenty big for our family. An excellent vacation overall, thanks to Giovanni and Mercedes.

Villa was in quiet location but still walkable from the centre of Alghero .
John our host was always on hand if we needed anything.
Villa is a lovely old residence with a large well stocked garden.
No indoor kitchen just the outdoor kitchen which worked OK for us as weather was good and we ate out in some of the fantastic restaurants in Alghero old town.

Bed rooms were clean , we lost the use of two toilets as one of the bathrooms flooded, outside kitchen not hygienic , tables outside dirty old and tatty also the chairs which were very rickety , taxis were reluctant to come to the Villa as the road is narrow
