Due to HOA rules, there’s no guest access to Birchwood Lake, but that restriction has become one of our greatest assets. It’s the reason birds outnumber boats. It’s why the sunsets reflect undisturbed. It’s what makes this place feel set apart.

With 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and space to sleep up to 14 guests, it’s designed for families, close friends, and quiet gatherings where connection matters more than commotion.
Step inside to a spacious great room with soaring wood-beamed ceilings, an open-concept kitchen, and a massive butcher block dining table that seats your entire crew. A wood-burning stove anchors the living space, perfect for cozying up with coffee or conversation.

Main Floor Master Suite with walk-in closet and lake views from your bed.
Two Lower-Level Guest Bedrooms, one with a king bed & reading nook, the other with a king & queen beds
Open Loft Area with two twin-over-full bunk beds and a queen bed & reading nook
Two Full Bathrooms, fully stocked with enough towels & supplies
Fully Equipped Kitchen with built-in fridge, island, coffee maker & restaurant grade cookware

Birchwood Lake is private and protected by HOA rules, so no swimming, boating, or fishing is allowed directly on our shoreline. But just a 5-minute walk away, Kettle Moraine Lake offers a public beach, boat launch, fishing pier, and a legendary Tiki Bar for summer fun. We provide paddle gear at the cabin to use there.

Birchwood Cabin, located just an hour away from Milwaukee, offers a cozy retreat on our private peninsula. Despite feeling like a world away, it is conveniently situated near various recreational activities and local attractions. With thousands of acres of state forest, you can easily spend your day hiking, road/mountain biking, or exploring the winding and hilly roads of Kettle Moraine. The cabin`s proximity to the trails and a range of local amenities ensures you`ll never be short of things to do.
To support local businesses, you can visit Three Sweets Bakery for coffee & great breakfasts, the Hamburger Haus for delicious ice cream or enjoy a satisfying lunch and cold beer at McJuggers or Camp Dundee. If you`re interested in shopping or visiting Lake Michigan, a short drive east along the Kettle Moraine scenic drive will take you to Kohler and Sheboygan. Additionally, Terry Andrea State Park is worth mentioning, as it boasts fantastic sand dunes for hiking and a fabulous beach for enthusiastic swimmers.
One of our favorite places in the area is the Tiki Bar on Kettle Moraine Lake, located just a 5-minute walk down the street. This lively spot features a fantastic outdoor Tiki bar, a full sand beach, kids games, tug of war, live music, and breathtaking beach sunsets.
PLEASE NOTE: Using Birchwood Lake is prohibited during your stay, but just remember we`re just two blocks away from Kettle Moraine Lake and the beach at the Tiki Bar! We`re also only 5 minutes from Long Lake, Auburn Lake, Mauthe Lake, Forest Lake, and Crooked Lake.

Birchwood Lake Use (Important!)
Birchwood Lake is a private fish sanctuary, and lake access is strictly prohibited per HOA regulations. That means:
No fishing, boating, swimming, or wading.
No use of paddleboards, kayaks, or watercraft on Birchwood Lake.
Violations may result in HOA fines starting at $1,000 and immediate removal.
The good news? Kettle Moraine Lake is just a short walk away and offers:
A public beach
Boat launch & fishing pier
Tiki Bar, live music & games
Paddle gear available at the cabin
General Conduct
Clean up after yourself in all shared spaces.
Return any moved furniture to its original location.
Report damages or accidents immediately.
Do not exceed the maximum overnight occupancy.
Quiet Hours: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (strictly enforced).
No Parties or Unauthorized Events
No large gatherings or events beyond your registered group.
Loud music or disturbances will result in police intervention.
Violations will result in cancellation without refund.
Pets
Pets allowed with prior approval only.
No pets on beds or furniture.
Pets must be kenneled if left unattended.
Clean up after your pet (muddy paws too!).
Pet damage or excessive mess will result in additional cleaning fees.

Outdoor smoking is permitted only if you dispose of butts properly (fire pit or sealed container).
No vaping, marijuana, or illegal substances permitted on property.

Love the cabin, felt rustic and luxurious at the same time.Peaceful and distant from the hustle and bustle yet close enough to visit local towns for dining and coffee shops. Large enough space to hang out with everyone in one area and great separate space for folks to retreat and relax. Snow-tubing nearby also a major plus. Lodging had everything we needed. Great hosts too!

We booked the cabin for a Christmas getaway and it was everything we hoped! Large enough inside for people to spread out and relax. Beautiful view of the lake to sit outside and unwind. Peaceful and quiet the entire time.
