About this house rental
Enjoy the relaxing ambiance of our large but cozy private waterfront home on beautiful Lake Champlain. The home was originally constructed in 1840 by the family for whom our bay is named. To respect its history, the hand-hewn plank floors have been preserved, giving it a lovely, warm feeling. Relax at the lakeside fire pit and patio while listening to gentle waves against the shore. Listen to loons call out on summer nights. Play in the water that’s perfect for playing with children. Grab a kayak (2) or the paddleboard and set off from the dock to enjoy the peace and beauty of being on the water. Come see the striking foliage of autumn or the gentle burst of springtime in the North Country.
The water depth reaches about 4' at the end of the dock and gradually deepens from there.
Our boat is not rentable. For your own boat, use the dock at your own risk since occasional wave action can cause damage. Feel free to park your boat and trailer on the front lawn, thereby saving the driveway for passenger vehicles. Boats can be launched at nearby Pointe au Rouche state park.
Be sure to visit Parker Family Maple Farm (10 min away) to experience the sweet delight of everything maple at this 5th generation Organic farm. Stop in at the Apple Lodge Cafe (5 min away) for a delicious breakfast that you won't soon forget. Check out Poirier True Value (5 min away - make a right onto Rt 9) to shop their local secret 2nd floor extensive collection of world famous Carhartt clothing. You can also get a fishing license, bait and tackle at this friendly and helpful family-owned business.
In winter, you can take advantage of area ski resorts and snowmobile trails to spice up your stay.
Montreal is only an hour away and a wonderful city to visit at any time of year.

Beautiful house right on Lake Champlain. Modern well-stocked kitchen. 4 large bedrooms with comfortable beds. 4 bathrooms. The house was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Large backyard going to the lake. Kayaks and life preservers for recreation. We were 3 older women staying here and everyone loved it. It would also be an excellent place for families with kids. Our hostess, Michelle, made sure the heat and air conditioning was comfortable for us. A wonderful experience!

The house was clean and beautiful! It was very comfortable for my extended family to gather and plenty of room if someone wanted quiet time alone or to work. The beach, although somewhat rocky, was nice to sit w a beach chair and book and have your feet in the sand. Family enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboard. We made full uses of the beautiful firepit area for sunrises and evening smores. Very much enjoyed day trip to both local state parks W/ beaches-Point Au Roach & Cumberland. My sis and I enjoyed a morning @ Alice Miner museum. A few of us spent a cooler/overcast day in Montreal.Wonderful trip!
