About this villa rental
Stunning Villa Luxury, obtained from the careful restoration of an ancient brick kiln of 1737, located in a unique position on the hill in front of the famous towers of San Gimignano. The villa has been carefully restored and furnished by the owners Lucia and Gabriele using high quality materials, for example the kitchen was built with large Carrara marble slabs and old bricks of the place, the renovation was completed after long and accurate restorations In June 2014. Owners, who personally follow their guests, are always available to help and make a memorable stay at Villa Iris.
The Villa provides guests with all the latest comforts for a truly unique holiday. Immersed in the tranquility of this enchanting place, guests can experience the atmosphere of other times enjoying the ultimate in modern comfort. The villa also has a wellness area with Finnish sauna, chromotherapy, sensory shower and gym.
In the large and well-kept garden of approx. 4000 m² surrounding the property is the beautiful infinity pool (12x6 m; depth min 1,10 - max 1,40 m - open from 30 March to 30 October) is completely travertino local stone with integrated whirlpool , Which, by not running the hydro-jet, can be used as a children's pool.
From the swimming pool you can enjoy breathtaking views of the towers of San Gimignano and the gentle hills surrounding the property with their famous vineyards and olive groves.
The large loggia, equipped with a masonry barbecue, is located near the typical kitchen.
The strategic location of the villa allows you to reach the most important art cities of Tuscany, Florence, Siena, Volterra, Pisa and many other important art cities. Within a short driving time, you will enter the four-lane street 3 km from the villa. San Gimignano is 2 km away and can be reached on foot through a hiking route, starting from the villa, through the renowned Vernaccia vineyards.
Distances: San Gimignano 2 km, Siena 28 Km, Florence 38 Km, Volterra 26 km, Pisa 77 km, Lucca 75 km. Montalcino km 49, Montepuciano 45 km, Pienza 55 km.
The PAM Supermarket Shopping Center (also open on Sundays all day) is located in Poggibonsi at approx. 6 km from the villa, or the COOP in San Gimignano open every day even on Sunday morning which is 2 km away.
The famous Fattoria di Poggio Alloro is just 900 meters from the Villa. Here you can also walk on foot, with a 5-10 minute walk, and dine or dine daily with typical local dishes. You can also organize wine tastings and buy the best wines from Chianti and other organic farm produce.
At guests' disposal: Villa Iris's parking space can accommodate up to 10 cars, which is inside the property. Games, ping-pong table, table football.
On the first floor of the villa there is a laundry room with washing machine, dryer, ironing board and iron.

Wi-Fi is available throughout the villa, in the pool area and in the garden. "Free Wi-Fi"
Included in the rental price there are 2 hour cleaning for 3 days a week.
Two rooms of Villa Iris were used as a gym and a Finnish sauna with chromotherapy and sensory shower.
There is air conditioning throughout the villa, which can be individually controlled in every room with remote control.
The owners offer guests a welcome buffet on the evening of arrival.

On request, guests can arrange dinners, wine tasting and cooking classes directly at the villa.

Our family of ten had a fantastic time during our stay. There was plenty of room (and privacy) for everyone and we loved the pool and the bocce court. Caterina and Gabriele were wonderful hosts, who were incredibly helpful throughout. The Villa's location was convenient to towns, shopping, vineyards, etc. We are already discussing when we might make a return visit.

We had a group of 4 staying at the Villa Iris and after 2 years of rescheduling due to Covid we finally made it in May 2022. The communication over the 2-3 year span was prompt and friendly. They were willing to work with us through all the difficulties and it was appreciated.
The Villa is incredible and the property and location are unmatched. While we were there the roses were in full bloom and you can't imagine how gorgeous they were. We loved coming back after a long day of being tourists and relaxing by the pool.
Others have said you can walk to San Gimignano from the Villa and while it is definitely possible it is a difficult hike on narrow roads that seemed uphill both ways! It's wonderful for exercise but not something I would do on my way to a dinner in town.
The kitchen is wonderful and has many incredible features, especially the wine fridge for all the bottles we bought during our day trips. The kitchen is stocked with all the cooking appliances you might need however, there were little to no supplies to work with if you plan on cooking so be sure to bring your own or plan on buying from the grocery store the first day (For example, salt/pepper, oil, napkins, foil, baggies, herbs and spices etc...). Same for the bathroom essentials....buy your own soap, hand soap, paper products etc.
The cleaning service was a nice detail and they didn't arrive too early in the day.
The owners and management were lovely people who were clearly happy to have us. We would absolutely come back again! Thank you so much for a wonderful trip.

Our group of 10 adults stayed at Villa Iris for a week this month-September 2019.
I have to say that upon arrival and being guided around the Villa and the property, I actually started to cry! We had been planning this for so long and to see this most beautiful Tuscan property that we could call home even for a week, rocked my soul!
From our initial contact via email with Caterina, Lucia and Gabriele everything went smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble. They helped us along the way prior to arriving and during our stay with reccommendations and reservations. We had 2 delicious evenings when Lucia, Caterina and Sara came for our cooking class and our final dinner.
The Villa inside and out fit us perfectly. We ate outside everyday at the long table because our weather was wonderful. The kitchen has everything you would require and more.
Seriously, I cannot recommend Gabriele and the team more highly. I would love to return and stay at Villa Sarah which is their brand new property within walking distance of Villa Iris. Either property has magical views- sunsets and sunrises.
We found the location was ideal for day trips, walks, dinning out, shopping, quite and beautiful scenery. We rented 2 cars from San Gimignano which worked out well.
Gabriele, Chef Lucia, Caterina and Sara you are all very special people and truly helped give us our dream holiday in Tuscany! We cannot thank you enough for your kindness and assistance.
