Green Mountain House - 8 person, 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with ski-back trail and shuttle to and from Mt Snow! Bears Crossing Community offers an outdoor heated pool, tennis courts, gym, BBQ area and fire pit - perfect for summertime!
The Green Mountain House is a place to slow down, indulge in personal nostalgia, drink a glass of wine (or two), and let your mind disconnect. A place designed for friends and family. For good food and conversation. There’s hiking in the summer, skiing in the winter, mountain fresh air and dark starry nights.
The Green Mountain House at Mount Snow is a 4 bedroom / 2 bath 1985 chalet located in Dover, VT in the heart of the Green Mountain National Park - 3.5 hour drive from New York City, 2.5 hour drive from Boston.
Below there is a 2-bedroom apartment with separate access that is rented separately.
We are minutes away from restaurants in West Dover and Wilmington, as well as Mt Snow and Stratton ski resorts. Green Mountain National Forest offers some of the best terrains for hiking and mountain biking in the northeast.
The house is officially situated on one acre but we back up to national park land so feel free to roam the backwoods for as long as your legs can sustain you. The home and grounds are available for your enjoyment!
Guest Access • Guests will have access to the main part of the house, consisting of entry through the front door, a full kitchen, living area with fireplace, an open concept kitchen, master suite on the main floor with three bedrooms and bathroom on the floor above. Guests may also enjoy private access to the wrap around deck. Below there is a 2-bedroom apartment with separate access that is rented separately.
Interaction with Guests • Keys will be left for you and we will always be available via email, text or phone.
Ski Resorts • Mt Snow ski resort is a 1 mile drive or The Moover is Dover’s free shuttle service that brings you directly to and from the mountain during the winter season. Additionally, there is a private groomed ski-home trail from Mt Snow that comes to Bears Crossing. Stratton ski resort is a 25 minute drive from the house.
Hiking • The Green Mountain National Forest is a great place to hike around and explore Haystack Mountain Trail. The Harriman Reservoir is a short 30 minute drive and is a great place to enjoy kayaking and lakeshore hiking.
The Club House • The community features a heated outdoor pool to enjoy those great Vermont summers as well as a BBQ area and fire pit on the upper deck.
Nearest International Airport • Albany International Airport (67 miles)
Other Things to Note • The house is well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen, bath products, board games and books, and an internet/Netflix enabled TV.

We enjoyed our stay. Host was very responsive to any questions we had. The only negative was it was under going updates and the windows had no blinds so no sleeping in cause the sun was out at 5:30am. I’m sure once all the work is done it will be great for the next guest. I will also warn you the apartment beneath is not insulated for sound so if you get a noisy neighbor that won’t be fun. We had a few construction workers show up the last night and they were blaring a radio. Thankfully they did quiet down as it got later in the night. All in all I would recommend this location. We stayed a week and enjoyed cooking our own meals. We had fun hiking each day.

Alex was a great host! Very responsive, the unit was clean and as pictured. Very close to the ski home trail huge plus!

Location is great, kitchen looked like it would have worked if we had planned to cook but we choose to eat out. The beds were absolutely not my favorite as it felt like concrete with foam over the top. I may be biased because I do have a sleep number but I don’t get a good night sleep at all.
