A lovely cottage in which no expense was spared by the owners, situated by the banks of the Canal, so close to passing yachts etc that verbal communication was possible. The amount of traffic in the canal was impressive and my partner and I spent many hours sitting outside in the garden enjoying watching all that was going on. Walks on the canal pathway were our daily exercise and highly recommended. We slept in the bedroom overlooking the canal and the bed was “brilliant”, so cosy and comfortable. The downside of staying in a semi remote location is mobile phone reception is poor and tv reception is non existent without using Wi-Fi to access personal channels both however are easily overcome. The other, and possibly only real downside which was disappointing, is that there are no restaurants, bars or hotels within reasonable walking distance which meant a drive for an evening out. The Cairnbaan Hotel, which is presently under redeveloped ,is a five minute walk away, when open it will be a great asset to the locality. All said we had a great stay in Coorie Doon cottage..

A most enjoyable week. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. The location was great, and let us explore Argyll from a very central position. We saw many interesting historical sites along with some spectacular views (sometimes through the rain, but spectacular nevertheless!)

Apart from the midges and rain we had a great time at Coorie Doon. It’s ideally placed to explore the area and in a beautiful spot to just chill. The cottage has everything you need and more. A great place.

Very well appointed terraced flat in excellent location looking on to the Crinan Canal. Beautiful walks all around, including along to Crinan by the side of the canal. Thoroughly recommended.

My partner and I came to Corrie Doon to get away, sight see and do some songwriting. We picked this cottage because it had two bedrooms so we could go and do work in different rooms and that worked. It was a great little cottage - lovely location with the canal right outside the door and garden - and good spot to drive off and see some of the ancient historic sights and villages near by we especially loved Tayvillich. Although there were two bedrooms the cottage would have been too small if four people had used it but it was fine for the two of us. it was clean and nicely stocked with all the cooking utensils etc that you would need along with firewood for the wood burner, and oil and cooking bits like, salt and pepper, herbs and spices etc - that was a nice touch. Beds were comfy, shower easy to use etc and the home was always a nice warm tempreture ....It was a shame that the local hotel, which we had hoped would be somewhere to go for a meal or evening drink or breakfast, was totally shut and apart from Pollys coffee very small kind of tin shack on the side of the canal, there was no where near by to get anything to eat or drink. I think if there had been just one place to go and sit down and have some food or drink it would have been better but on saying that i would highly recommend the place as it was easy to drive out to places and it was perfect for our needs - beautiful pine filled hills to the right of the house and lovely flat canal side walks - It was easy to get in touch with people for any questions and i thought it was great 9 out of 10 really...a lovely calm stay (midges did come out in full force once the sun came out though!!) ..

We had a wonderful stay, the amenities in the cottage were better than usual. We were able to explore the area after our visits so long ago to find the changes that have been made since. The Kilmartin museum and glen being the important one. Even though a lot of the hotels and places were closed for refurbishment prior to the season we found forestry walks and catered for ourselves in the well appointed cottage. Thanks to Argyle self catering who efficiently found this cottage for us after our other choice had to be cancelled.
