Welcome to Hunters Lookout! With paralleled views of the St. Louis River and convenient access to the water, 12 trailheads, and Spirit Mountain, this is the upper apartment in a new (May 2024) two-level home (aka Hunters Lodge). Owned by three proud Denfeld HS alumni (the “Hunters”), its design celebrates the best of western Duluth and includes locally crafted outdoor furniture from Loll Designs, and cozy, eclectic interior furnishings expressing local, regional, and global influences. The Lookout features an open floor plan and large entertaining spaces including living area with fireplace, dining area, full kitchen and pantry, and a large BBQ deck overlooking the river. This beautiful home sleeps 6 in 2 bedrooms and a convertible sofa. Part of the Riverwest development, Hunters Lookout is among the closest homes to the river. The community offers easy access to nearby kayak and other boat rentals for exploring the river, and a wealth of year-round outdoor activities including downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, all kinds of biking, hiking, fishing, and more. The apartment is spacious cozy and has a great views. You can see Spirit Mountain from one side and walking trails and river from the other. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and it’s convenient to have the garage downstairs. We would definitely come back. We had a small issue with the bedroom ceiling fan, and Janelle was helpful.

This place was perfect! New, clean, comfortable, and fully stocked with anything you could need! Beautiful view of the sunrise over the water. Close access to so many hiking trails! The Burnett Dairy Duluth cheese store is a must stop and shop!

I had an amazing time at the beautifully decorated, brand new RiverWest Hunters Lookout VRBO! I enjoyed the spectacular view of the St. Louis River and Spirit Mountain. The convenience of its location near various attractions (Zoo, Munger Trail, Superior Hiking Trail, and Canal Park) and amenities, along with its well-equipped kitchen and comfortable accommodations, made my stay truly enjoyable. I didn't sleep on the sleeper sofa but was told it was comfortable, which added a good experience for everyone. I would highly recommend a stay.
