PELICAN PARADISE is an INCREDIBLY UNIQUE BAYFRONT Dewey Beach retreat that has it all! Family and Dog Friendly. Enjoy the community beach area (shared by 7 units), swimming, fishing and crabbing dock, a private boat slip, plus it's just a short 2 block walk to the ocean and Dewey's award winning clean and pet-friendly beaches. Sip your morning coffee or a cocktail at sunset on the private, expansive deck with stunning panoramic views of the Rehoboth Bay. Located in the heart of Dewey Beach off Read Avenue, Pelican Paradise is the perfect summer or year-round getaway! Walking distance to indoor and outdoor dining, entertainment, kid's playground, watersports rentals, a quick trolley ride to the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk (less than 2 miles away) and just a 10 minute car ride to incredible tax-free shopping (including over 100 brand-name outlet stores). Wonderful vacation rental offers 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, including 3 queen beds in three bedrooms and a bunk bed with 2 full-size mattresses in the 4th bedroom. Bonus: beach chairs, a kayak and crab traps. Parking included - 2 assigned parking located in lot across from house + 2 Dewey Beach Parking Permits (for parking off-premises). Pelican Paradise is a non-smoking property. Fireplace Inoperable.
Dog friendly with $300 minimum pet fee and signed addendum. Number of dogs & breed restrictions may apply.
The property must be occupied for the entire rental period by the Guest signing the Lodging Agreement (Responsible Guest), and all occupants of the Property shall be supervised by the Responsible Guest. The Responsible Guest must be at least 25 years of age. If the party is made up of unrelated individuals (a group rental where the Responsible Guest is NOT the legal guardian/parent of any other guests), ALL guests occupying the property must be at least 25 years of age.
Guests pay a $155 cleaning fee for every stay. Sheets/towels/paper products are not included, linens are available for rent.
Guests must choose to purchase a $70 Vacation Rental Damage Insurance policy covering $3,000.00 in accidental damage or pay a refundable security deposit of $2,000.00. Policies of a lesser amount are not acceptable.
We accept Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover Credit Cards and eChecks for your initial deposit. We also accept personal checks for final payments. Final payments are due 30 days prior to your check-in date. NOTE: Any payments within 30 days of arrival require to be in certified funds or by credit card. You will be provided a link to a Guest Portal where you can securely make your payments online.
VRBO BOOKINGS: This property is hosted by the management company noted as owner on this site. After booking the property you will be charged a booking fee by VRBO. ALL other fees and the rental amount will be charged by the management company and paid to the management company. Once you have booked on VRBO, you will be contacted by a representative from the management company via phone or email and you will be sent a Lodging Agreement that must be signed to confirm your reservation. Apart from damage protection, all fees associated with the booking are displayed in the VRBO booking. Unless indicated otherwise, Linens/Towels and paper products are NOT INCLUDED. The location was the selling point for this property. Being on the bay and only 2 blocks from the ocean was a huge perk. The few things that made this property odd were the shared balcony with all the other units that were attached to this unit, which was not really listed as such. Also the 2nd bathroom being in the primary bedroom made it a bit odd for the other two bedrooms to utilize, requiring a trip down the stairs to access the other restroom. As with all homes anymore the upstairs was much warmer, by 4 degrees, than the downstairs making it uncomfortable while sleeping. Just as a note for overall sound, you can hear the bars/bands in the evening from the bedrooms. Overall the property was nice and you can sort of manage to deal with these aspects for a week since the location was supreme.

My family had a lovely stay at pelican Cove. Though the property needs some updates, the furniture was comfortable, and the living area was spacious. The bedrooms are cosy and the beds were comfortable. The upper deck area was great to hang out in, but is not physically separated from the condo walkway/stairs if you have small children or pets. The outdoor area is such that you don’t need to go to the bar to enjoy the music in the evenings.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our party of six were very comfortable at this property. While the property is a little worn, it was very clean and and all items in working order. Livingroom had room for us to spread out. |The property is close enough to walk to some restaurants and 3 blocks to the beach. The dock was a plus allowing us to crab and fish right at the property.We also enjoyed sitting out on the comfortable 2nd story deck and the "beach" next to the dock area. Communication with the management was great. We got loads of info before our rental about what to expect in the area and about the property. Check-out was easy.

The positives... distance to restaurants , the beach, & the strip, beautiful views, spacious LR seating, updated appliances, & Kim at BHHS was a pleasure to work with. Now for the rest... the deck is not private as noted. It is one big deck that is accessible to the other units on the property & the couch & chairs shown for the unit were all used by them - right outside of the room & patio door that connects to it. We arrived over Memorial Day weekend & one of our assigned parking spaces were taken by guests not in our party & again by other cars when we would leave & return. The parking is very tight & you will need to park outside of the block in permit areas if none is available. There is a restaurant/club just a few spaces over from the property that has dance music thumping well past 1am that vibrates throughout the house. We didn't mind this, but if you have small children or elderly people in your party as we did, it might not be pleasant for them. Many of the blind slats on the main floor are missing or broken & other guests can & will look in on you as we experienced. The ensuite room upstairs does not appear to be connected to the central air system & it was difficult to keep the windows open with other guests talking right outside until the early morning. I understand you can't control the actions of others as an owner or manager, but overall this unfortunately was not the most pleasant experience.
