About this apartment rental
The vacation apartment is located not far from the center of Hohegeiß. It is in a quiet area and surrounded by hiking trails, a spa park, woods, and cross-country ski trails. It offers a beautiful view. A ski and toboggan lift is nearby. The mountain village of Hohegeiß is located in the Harz National Park. It lies between Sorge to the north-northeast and Benneckenstein to the east (both in Saxony-Anhalt), Rothesütte to the southeast (Thuringia), Zorge to the south, and Braunlage to the north-northwest (both in Lower Saxony). Federal Highway 4, which crosses the Harz Mountains, runs through the village—situated at an elevation of approximately 570 to 642 meters above sea level—between Braunlage and Rothesütte. The state border of Saxony-Anhalt runs past the northeastern edge of the village; at this border, approximately 3.3 km southeast of Hohegeiß, lies the tri-state corner of Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia. Near the village lies the Dicke Tannen natural monument. The mountain village of Hohegeiß is one of the highest settlements in the Harz Mountains and, in good weather, offers a unique panoramic view. It is surrounded by mountain meadows and forests that are protected nature reserves, and its clear, pure air has earned it the designation “resort.”
